We begin with the Eight of Swords, to be caught in the kind of situation that only worsens the more one struggles against it. Like the briars will only pull tighter the more the swan thrashes, so too will her situation become more unclear the more she struggles to define it. Taking a moment to breath, pause, and really think things through, is the key to untangling yourself. [b]Two of Cups:[/b] Luckily Neith has a partner to help her, the two of cups is union and synergy, partnership, one person’s weakness is another’s strength. If Neith is too restless to pause and take stock of her situation in the way it deserves then Rugievit is there to at least offer a different way of looking at things. [b]Seven of Swords:[/b] An attempt to escape responsibility, or the taking of that which one cannot rightfully claim. In the context of the previous two cards, I feel like Rugievit, though very well intentioned, gives bad or misguided advice. Or perhaps it is good advice that she misinterprets. It plays over in his head, it colors his actions in the present day, but he has let it absorb him. His desire to be more open is fueled as much by his own lingering survivor’s guilt as anything. In some way he hopes to be forgiven for being alive. [b]Judgement:[/b] A decision is made. The necessity of hard choices and the hope for renewal. Maybe even absolution. He resolves himself to be open to someone. Maybe Neith, maybe another, but the choice is made all the same. [b]Three of Swords:[/b] I will admit I trend towards optimistic readings of the spread, and I enjoy the shadowscapes tarot because it is a fairly hopeful sort of deck. The three of swords however is unambiguously blunt in its tragedy. Heartbreak, betrayal, separation, and isolation. The gamble was a poor one. Whoever he shared his experiences with was not receptive, perhaps even angry. The one silver lining I might offer, is that changing his motive for sharing may lead to a different outcome. The Four of Cups implies a certain amount of selfishness and self absorption. A disregard for how whatever you might do affects others. Coming at this more honestly could possibly lead to a brighter result.[/center] @Vangandr All done!

Some might mistake kindness for weakness, gentleness for fragility, but they would be mistaken. Strength comes in all shapes and sizes, and the strength of one’s bonds is as important as the strength of one’s muscles. Arduinna knows this deeply, intimately, though she is confident enough to let words to the contrary roll off her back like water off a duck. [b]The Eight of Wands:[/b] The beginning of a long journey, towards a goal. It need not be a grand journey, or a lofty goal, but Arduinna has something concrete in life she wants to accomplish and probably a very practical and well considered road map to get there. [b]The Six of Cups:[/b] A reminder of childhood innocence, a sense of wonder, and the ability to see things from a fresh perspective. True wisdom is not getting set in one’s ways, or thinking that intelligence is a function of age. It is important to be young at heart, and to carry that eagerness to learn new things through your entire life. Valraven has been presented with a choice that is harder than it ought to be. A decision between personal profit or ceding the win to another. Altruism doesn’t come easily, but somehow it’s a little harder than normal to be selfish in this circumstance. [b]The Nine of Swords:[/b] Intense self doubt. Possibly in the wake of the previous difficult choice. Did he pick the right path? Is he really happy with that outcome? It troubles him, keeps him up at night, but he can’t undo it now. [b]The Empress:[/b] Hm maybe a look at what (or who) it was that had him so conflicted. If Valraven is perhaps given to self interest and a touch of malice, then a Mate who is his exact opposite might perhaps provoke something of an identity crisis. Still her presence at the end of the spread indicates that maybe he’s accepted that for now, he has a few exceptions.[/center] @day101012 And here you go!
