“i think i might have fallen in love...”
”...what am i to do?”

@addams you have a lovely lair, i'm really impressed by your attention to detail. it's clear that a lot of care goes into these dragons, and the result is a graceful, subtle lair. When I clicked through your lair, portia was the first to catch my eye, I think because of the touches of orange and blue that you've included in her color scheme. I really like how her water eyes match the blue in the tea set apparel, and the scene, autumn breeze, and dried tea all come together to give her a warm and gentle vibe. her name, and the character behind it, seem to really fit her. She's beautiful. The gradient from arva's wings to his nightshroud is perfect, but what really impressed me about him was the bit of writing in his bio. I love the idea of a softer death god who cares for the dead as they leave the world of the living, and it fits him perfectly. His familiar also really works for him, as does the combination of elements from the haunting amber set with apparel that looks like dried plants. Lovely concept and execution. Yet again, it's the little details that really make hecate special. The marsh frog companion is such a great touch, and I love how the herb pouch picks up the yellow in her eyes and in the pearl choker. She's so cohesive and pleasant to look at. I also love that she keeps to herself and doesn't follow the gods -- she's so enigmatic! I want to know more about her! And another dragon that I want to know more about! Something about effigy feels a bit unsettling -- maybe his quote, maybe the swirl eyes combined with patchwork/stitch. he's kind of spooky in a fun way. His design is also really good. I feel like I rarely see stitch/patchwork used in a way that doesn't make the dragon seem like a plush; I think veined really adds to his look and makes him unique. And that accent looks like it was made for him. He's unusual and excellent. Finally, castor. I love a subtle teal/brown pairing and his design does it really well. he also really fits his setting, as those genes with those colors make him look a bit dusty. A beautiful veil, and, as a final note, the little scene between him and hadarac in the latter's bio is so sweet. you are really good at establishing a mood and a sense of character with only a few lines of writing.

@Dejanira You may not have a very large lair, but you’ve got a really distinct style! I’ve picked the 5 dragons I think best express what makes your lair unique. What actually first caught my eye about Talos was the scene you chose for him - I don’t think I’ve seen that scene before, and Talos himself seems to embody much of the same feel as the scene. We’ve got lots of golds throughout, but mingling among this treasure is a bunch of earthy textures from his poison and morph genes. There’s a lot of interesting complexity going on, which makes me want to know his story. Serret seems very earthy - she looks like someone you’d find wandering the woods, someone completely at home in nature. Clown and smirch genes aren’t genes that I usually like, but it lends well to her organic feel. The humble dried tea item in particular just seems to suit her perfectly, matching the green flecks in her toxin gene. Her accent also blends in with her natural colors very nicely. Ashwyrm is such a cool little Fae, and probably my favorite dragon in your lair. I love how the bloodshard chains work with his Current and Crackle genes to give a really rough, weathered feel to his wings – I especially love the rusty chains hanging down! The bright spots of red also contrast nicely with his more subdued grays and browns. And what stands out the most are his light eyes - he definitely feels like he’s looking right at you. Like Serret, Crimond also has a really strong earthy vibe going on. The swamp glimmer matches perfectly with his kelpie mane, and I love how it all looks like it’s flowing out of his sepia woodmask. The texture of his skin works well with the roughness of his apparel. And the tropical birdskull wingpiece is a great touch, the dots of pink matching the pink tufts at the back of his legs! Lastly, I found this little one hiding in the back of your Hibernal Den so I hope you do not mind my picking him! I just really love Pericles’ colors. The mantis gembond really leaps out at you and matches perfectly with his mandible helmet. I love how the helmet draws attention to his bright pink eyes. And the Peridot Flair ties everything together so well with the pink lines crisscrossing his pale green wings!

@OneWing You have a wonderful, dynamic lair! I love the abundance of pastels and the layout that gradients one color pallet to the next with your dragons. Porcelain has a wonderful color palette of red and cream! I never would've thought of it myself, but it works great! Her elaborate skin is made all the more eye-catching with her light off-white primary and secondary as a base, and it blends perfectly into her glimmer tertiary. Meanwhile, the white silks add a sense of elegance and makes the whole outfit feel lighter and matches to her scene. Lastly, the red bows make the red feel present throughout the outfit, while making her seem doll-like as her brief, but intriguing, lore would suggest. Next is Amore! I love his aesthetic, it's all strawberries and whipped cream-feeling, if that makes sense. His branches tertiary really work to his advantage here, truly emulating the flowering branch of a romantic rose tree, this motif echoed by his accent, which also provides the perfect amount of green to offset the pinks to it doesn't feel like too much. And though constellation and shell are both heavily patterned genes, they guide the eye and match each other well enough that it doesn't seem busy or cluttered. Sonnet is a wonderfully colorful Imperial, her skin and silks over her darker color scheme making for a dynamic combination! The tips of her green wings peeking through the skin compliments the pinks, while the gold helped by the flower fall compliments the black. I also really like the familiar you've matched with her for some reason? it seems to match the aesthetic she has perfectly. Raspberry/indigo/sapphire is not a combination I expected to work, but work it does, and well! Raspberry primary provides the perfect base to match Nightflower's accent, while indigo and sapphire match the blues as not to make them seem out of place. Her starry silks and floating candles are the perfect touch to her outfit, truly making her feel mystical and otherworldly. She reminds me of a dream I once had, actually, and is all the more wonderful for it! Dark red + cyan, in my opinion, is a sorely underrepresented color combination, so I was delighted to see Journey set such a good example of it! He may only have starsilks and haunted flame apparel, but that's all he really needs, honestly, when it does such a good job of letting his colors shine! The haunted flame matches the teal of Journey's primary while adding gold as a pleasing accent color, and the starsilks make sure the red is not lost in the grand color scheme. All in all, your dragons were a treat to look through, each outfitted so well! It's almost a shame I was limited to five. Kudos to your design and lore skills!

I am in love with his dark fiery aesthetic. All of his apparel pieces are well chosen, and even though there’s some overlap, it doesn’t look busy—I especially love your usage of the incense mantle. On an additional note, his broadcast message is hilarious. Fireblade caught my eye as soon as I opened your lair. He looks so whimsical and swashbuckling. His color palette is not one I’ve seen a lot of, but I love the cream and red accented with green. His outfit fits very well as a wind dragon, and I particularly liked the usage of the airborne parchment. As a contrast to the previous two, I love the mix of cool tones you used for Revile. He looks very dangerous. I like his mostly monochrome palette with hints of various shades of blue, and the apparel you used suits him very well. Indi has a very angelic vibe and I love it! She’s very simply dressed but the combination of her accent and the lustrous mantle is stunning. Her accent is amazing and I love that it looks like a stained glass window. I am a sucker for dark colors paired with gold, so I love her purple undertones. Like I said, I love gold with dark colors, and I am particularly fond of the sanguine/gold combination. Lost is stunning, the accent is perfect and adds just the right amount without being too busy. The apparel is well chosen—the silver rose thorn pieces add a nice contrast to the red/gold colors, and the candles and blindfold are accessories that add just the right amount to the outfit. Also the familiar is perfect.

He caught my eye straightaway -- a relaxing presence ready to welcome visitors into your clan. Those dark, earthy colors match each other very well. In particular, I like how the swirls on the Supplicant's robe complement the lighter stripes on his Striation. It almost looks like he has trails of magic swirling across his clothes and drifting off his wings. The accent is a lovely touch as well, the pink flowers perfectly complementing the pink leaves on the Sepia Wood pieces. Lenria has fantastic colors! The shades of yellow in her secondary and tert are quite different, but you've managed to assemble an outfit that ties them together harmoniously. I think sticking to apparel that doesn't cover so much of her body is another good choice, as it keeps her natural genes visible. Splash in particular looks great on her, with those patches in different shades of blue. Her overall aesthetic is great: She really resembles a fancy teacup! A gorgeous, mysterious dragon! She's quite lovely to begin with, and I adore how her outfit plays up her starry aesthetic. The starsilks, scarf, and robe almost look like part of her secondary; it's such a neat matching effect! If she were purely dark colors, the overall effect would probably be a bit monotonous, but by adding the emblem and Gloomwillow Guide, you've managed to add spots of brightness that stand out nicely against the dark background and make Ciara look more interesting. What a beauty! I'm a sucker for Stained, and this girl uses it to such interesting effect. I especially like the combination with Breakup: It's a tough gene to work with, but in her case, it matches the spooky swamp aesthetic wonderfully. I particularly like how you chose to emphasize the murky, purple-gray shades. The swirling mane and Presence match each other fantastically. The scene was a good choice, too: With the greenish colors of Breakup, it almost looks like this Noc gal is emerging from the green mists, preceded by her familiar (another great match!). I'm not particularly fond of ancients, but wow, Shara is an intriguing one! Her colors are so rich, dark, and deep. Ancients have very limited dressing options, but I think this accent was a good choice for her. It emphasizes her darkness, but there are still enough glints of light to make her interesting to look at, and they complement her Starmap wonderfully, too. Love that patch of brightness on her wing as well. Quite eye-catching, and it almost makes it look like the moon is shining on her as she emerges from the shadows.

I adore Jiro's aesthetic!

@Disillusionist I have always wanted to catch you in a top 5 game so I can continue to gush over your lair. Where do I even begin? There are so many fantastic and unique characters among the Disillusionists many with stunning lore, bio coding, and artwork. It is ultimately impossible to choose only five dragons from your lair, but I'll do my best to showcase a few personal favorites from your clan that I've admired! [columns][nextcol] Spectrecle has been among my favorite dragons of yours for a while now. As with all of your dragons, her colors and genes are gorgeous and blend beautifully with the wardrobe you've created for her. She has such an on point ghostly vibe and her familiar matches her perfectly as well (even the gems associated with the poltergeist pile match the blue light bauble on Spectrecle's tail). BUT. My absolute favorite thing about her is her lore. I have been absolutely captivated by the three brothers and the desert story since you posted it and I can't lie that it has inspired some of the imagery and content in a number of my own desert-themed tales. [/columns] [columns] Ok so I know that technically it might be cheating a bit since Sabbath came from one of my pairs and therefore I might be just a little biased. But hear me out. I couldn't imagine crafting him the absolutely perfect wardrobe that he's wearing now. I think that you have completely redefined the beauty of the crackle tertiary that can be such a challenge to work with. Despite his tertiary being blatantly obvious when he isn't wearing a skin, it seems to blend in seamlessly with 'Mind Made Up'. My other favorite thing are the little edges of his reference book peeking out from under the wings of the lustrous mantle. I can't wait to see any future stories he ends up in! [nextcol] [/columns] [columns][nextcol] Minuit is another long-term favorite of mine (and guess who still has his kid Leverett hanging out and still hasn't completed the lore he deserves). I think my favorite thing about Minuit is how beautifully collaborative his story is. I truly miss working with Ximena, but I absolutely adore how you've woven their characters (namely Nhainnse) into Minuit's tale and then built on his story so beautifully. He also just has a LOT of lore and has been featured in so many stories. Look, I haven't even talked about how is is also a visually stunning dragon as well. I love the combination of pale white and blue that give him the perfect faerie vibe. And I see he's gotten one of the new NOTN scenes as well! [/columns] [columns] I see that Corwin has a number of likes, which is completely understandable given that she is astounding in nearly every way possible. Where to start? She's a G1 with gorgeous matchy colors and an outfit that matches perfectly. Once more, loving the familiar matching for her. Then we get to the lore. I have to admit that if this thread were longer, I would feature Imago and Leannan right along side her because the Elision/Illusion/Erosion/Elysion lore is another one of my absolute favorite series you've written *rolls around on the floor in amazement*. Once again, the tales weave so many characters together so beautifully and your idea for a living embodiment of a city, as you know, was so mind-blowing to me that I had to do something similar with Hirondelle. Seriously, a series of tales packed with enchantment and inspiration. Honestly, I essentially live for this kind of content. I suppose I will leave some honorable mentions at the end as well, but I just can't resist posting Randolph. I know she doesn't have a full tale written yet, but ever since I first spotted her in your lair I've been obsessed with her aesthetic. Maybe it's because I'm partial to the black/gold combo, or perhaps it's just how much I love the vibe that her outfit gives, but she has definitely earned a place among my favorite dragons from your clan. AND. She already has absolutely stunning artwork! That piece that you did is 10/10 and I absolutely love everything about it. Honestly, I am still so honored to have the art you made of Icarus a while back, but if you decide to open more art commissions in the future I'd love to be on that list. Anyways, I digress. I can't wait to see what tales Randolph will wind up featured in in the future! Oh, and once again, nice familiar matching going on here too <3 [/columns] Thank you for all of your stunning tales and your beautiful lair. I browse through often for inspiration and to see if there are any new faces! I have to say that there are certainly more than 5 favorites and have to leave some honorable mentions for Aschenstern, Origenes, Aracius, Xialanthe (who I could also gush about for another few hundred words), Heurodys, Carousel. . . and basically everyone else in your lair? Top 5 should be more like top 400. . . Anyways, as always, it was a pleasure revisiting some of your dragons! Wishing you the best for the holidays and more tales in the new year to come! Cheers~

@awaicu Apologies for the delay! Gosh, what a wealth of dragons! I opened 42 of them individually hahaha. So hard to choose, but I've done my best! Teska incapulates many themes in your layer. First, your excellent ability to mix very different colors together cohesively. I am astounded that light pink works with this dragon, and yet it really makes her pop! Her apparel accents her genes without being too busy, despite how overbearing the lace apparel often is. Props for being the first seraph dragon I've ever liked! I also love your item layering - bone antlers, lace headpiece, and brown birdskull headdress go so well together. It really gives Teska so muhc personality, even without her extensive (and great) lore! She's really such an unusual dragon and I love her (also, surprise chicken!). Virgil has the benefit of having such pleasant colors, but what I especially love about him is how natural his outfit is. The longer I stare, the more small details I pick up. The mushrooms are not part of his cape! And the scar on his face is not part of a skin at all. Just the blend of colors is so satisfying and lovely. (Also the fact that his parents are Vanilla and Milkshake is just precious) Caelum - I admit some bias here. i love tundras to death, and you have very few in your lair, but Caelum stole my heart immediately. Gah his golden eyes! With little peaks of gold on his arms and the grapes! The layered wingdrapes that somehow perfectly match the skin!! I'm fangirling and would steal him immediately if I could haha! You have lots of great dragons ready to join a masquerade, but Pandaemonium was one of my favorites! His apparel and UMA work seamlessly together. The jester aparel gives him such a nice flair of personality. And filigree on his face! It looks so natural with his mask. He looks like he's having a blast at whatever event he is a part of! Khonsu is such an unusual dragon! Yet again, you've taken a gene I usually can't stand, Vipera, and even in a potentially unpleasant color, and have really made it work. I love how his accent brightens up the primary gene's color. Khonsu's details pop - the matching circlets on his head and legs, his flowery look with the barely perceptable flower crown, and light golden accents with his necklace. He has such unusual colors. And the okapi shades certain parts of him just enough to make the bright spots pop. He's very unique and a dragon to be proud of!

All of her colors are wildly different shades of blue and yet they are pulled together so well via her genes. I really, really like how subtle the tertiary is, ringlets is usually pretty overwhelming.
