Biography
Oh, it looks like the Fraldarius boy has gone wandering again...
The eldest living son of a nobleman in a far-off kingdom. Though slotted to take over as head of his family -- and indeed, spends much time assisting his father with affairs on their territory -- he can often be found accompanying his younger sibling, Bythraz, on their wanderings across Sorineth. With his family's shield in one hand and his sword in the other, he's a skilled and ferocious fighter whose skill in the art of the blade has thus far been matched by a precious few.
Though Felix might come across as cold and biting, this is partly a side-effect of his blunt nature. He rarely sees reason to bother much with other people, or consider mincing his words. This occasionally leads to trouble when those inclined to take offense -- and who won't be placated by Byth's calming words -- decide it's high time they put the noble in his place. The fights themselves are welcome, as he sees them as chances to hone his abilities, but it's rare to encounter one strong enough to catch his attention in combat. Most likely, anyone challenging him isn't even going to be worth remembering. Of course, no one likes to be told this to their face, but his confidence is far from misplaced -- and when all else fails, he's certainly not against throwing a punch where a blade won't do.
Lack of empathy isn't the reason for Felix's abrasiveness and seeming apathy to others, far from it. It's only meditation and training, in fact, that reduces the range of his powerful awareness of others' thoughts and emotions -- a heightened form of the innate empathic powers all Skydancers possess -- from the range of a solid half mile to a mere ten feet. Rather, he doesn't exactly know what to do with the knowledge his natural Skydancer abilities grants him, outside of the occasional split-second insight on an enemy. To him, this is but another consistent fact of life and there isn't often a need to let it influence what he says or does.
Besides, what's he care about some random person and what they think?
But emotions aren't where it ends. After all, energy takes many forms, and what is magic but one particular manifestation of it? The sensitivity of Felix's ability allows him to perceive these other fainter forms, and while he doesn't usually pay it much attention, its effects are not nonexistent. Visions, of countless other lives -- no two much alike or familiar, save for the presence of himself and some of the faces within -- plague him, drawn out through the lines of whatever hollowed magics and spirits he senses, most often in the form of dreams barely remembered come morning. Though he finds the thoughts and feelings that remain with him long after waking a hassle, he rarely witnesses a life without his friends and family, and it's hard not to take some solace in the thought that, asleep or awake, he'll always be surrounded by those he loves.
Even if he wouldn't say it to their faces. Words aren't exactly his specialty.
Felix huffs quietly. "Seems like a reasonable question to me, but whatever. I challenge and have been challenged by many while on the road with Bythraz. Most of them aren't worth remembering. Beyond that..." The Skydancer sits back and thinks for a moment, antennae twitching.
"There have been a few," he says eventually, "who approached me rather than the other way around and posed a decent enough challenge." Decent enough he hadn't been sure of the outcome in the heat of the moment. A faint smile tugs at the corner of his lips. "I can't wait to test my mettle against them again someday, but they'd better be training hard to keep up. I don't plan on going easy or stalling my own training just so they might have a chance if they didn't."

Greetings Felix, pardon for asking but, is there any opponent that has challenged you to a duel that was an even match?
