Why not?
Basically I tend to prefer modern-type settings for my fictional worlds, just because I've always been very fond of melding fantasy and reality. And usually these worlds just follow my characters doing day-to-day things amid all sorts of fantasy ridiculousness. No magic quest story for them just yet!

Villanelle for all practical purposes is the leader of the clan, despite the fact that she's really an awful troublemaker and gets into all sorts of problems with law enforcement dragons (whatever they are, I guess). But she's good about owning up to things, and she usually takes the hit for anyone who gets into trouble. She organized a clan as sort of a place for other 'odd dragons' who didn't get on too well with society to stay, and is officially in charge of taking care of the place. Except she's kind of awful at it.
Vassily's actually the one in charge of stuff. It's not his official title, since Vil is the boss, but he's really much better at her job than she is. He's pretty disdainful of the law, but at least he doesn't get reported so often. He treats everyone like they're his lame little sibling who wants to be like him. Always sarcastic, kind of pretentious, and usually condescending. But the staff of the place take that to mean that he's got some kind of authority. He doesn't complain about his job because he's secretly super in love with Vil and doesn't have the heart to say anything about it~
The staff includes Eudora, who's basically a babysitter who has a hard time making decisions
and Neptune, the clan guard dragon who has a surprisingly lacking depth of personality and has a difficult time trusting others.
Of course, not everyone is a staff member! Most of the other dragons are tenants/residents, and I suppose I'll share the oddest ones.
Salome and Martingale are that annoying couple. You know. Just generally think they're better than everyone. The kind who will sit and pretend to talk about intelligent things when really they're making no sense. Use big words without knowing what they mean. I only mention them because they're pretty and matching. Needless to say, they're social outcasts because they're just
super snobby.
Elisadore, who is
actually very well educated, but has an extremely lateral thought process and makes literally every situation unnecessarily complicated. Would in fact be the most intelligent resident if simple tasks didn't confuse her more than complex tasks.
Rosalynne, who basically hates everybody and is a huge coward
And Manticore, who looks like a Tiger and acts just like one as well. He's the clan 'pet'. Cannot be trusted around leftover food, baby dragons or small animals.
Well, these are the big ones! My favorites so far, at least. The staff and the residents are both working groups, so I expect to expand my lair sometime soon! I like to pretend that if I sell or exalt my dragons, that means they're normal enough to function outside of the dysfunctional microcosm into which they were born. Just to be consistent, of course!
