Hello! Been in this trash can since freshman year of high school, where I met someone online (who helped me create my first character*) and I’ve been here ever since. It’s been... five or six years since I joined, I think.
*nowadays, we are like best friends. We talk and send each other memes all the time.
I also just recently came out to my parents as a furry (I was very worried because they seemed to be pretty firmly in the camp of “they only do nasty stuff in costumes/they do nasty things to animals”) but they were cool about it and more than willing to learn the truth about the fandom. I've been a furry for about 12 years, since I was 9. I was a furry in denial for 4 of those years, then said **** it, and now here I am. I pay over $60 for people to draw my fursona. I can't afford a fursuit but I want one SO MUCH. I'm on the edges of the community, finding a lot of people too intense or overbearing for my anxiety ridden brain to handle. But h-hewwo mistew obamnya.
