hello everyone! i've been on FR for a few months and i love it, but i'm very new to the community so this will be my first (technically second) active foray into it ^^

for a little bit of background: i found out i was autistic pretty recently. for me personally, knowing exactly what's going on with me makes things a lot easier to handle (in some ways, at least!). since learning more about it i've been seeing traits in a lot of characters that i find some sort of kinship with, which is why i have quite a few autism headcanons. (part of the reason for this is also because i'm kind of starved for autistic representation, although i could just be looking in the wrong places.)

for anyone else who might be able to relate to this—do you have any characters you hc as autistic, and if so, who are they?

here are some of mine!

-seymour krelborn from little shop of horrors
-sarah williams, jareth, and sir didymus from labyrinth
-flick, blathers, brewster, and sable from the animal crossing games
-all four core members of gorillaz
-ENA

i'm aware that some of these might be a little...strange, i guess? but i vibe with them ^^ i'd like to know if there's anyone out there who has similar headcanons of their own! thank you for taking the time to read this, whoever you are!

okay not autism strictly and he's also not a Human so it might just be what his species as a whole was like, but Megamind gives off STRONG ADHD-adjacent neurodivergent vibes and I love him.

I feel like Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars give off some type of vibe along those lines.

i really vibed with alia in "i love arlo!" i headcanon her being autistic/adhd and there was a whole song about her seemingly dealing with overstimulation, in a really sweet and respectful way for a children's cartoon.

edit: also entrapta in she-ra and the princesses of power is canonically autistic and one of the crew members who helped create her is as well which is nice :o)

I headcanon Blathers from Animal Crossing and Jotaro Kujo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure to be autistic. They give me autistic vibes and I relate to them a lot.

Not a headcanon, but Wattson from Apex Legends and Symmetra from Overwatch are both canonly autistic! Both of them have a lot of different autistic tendencies, and for the most part, they're depicted... fairly well? Actually, whenever Wattson makes a fence in game, she actually stims!
