Papyrus from Undertale. Like, he's got -very few close friends -awkward social skills and seemingly no filter -a need/strong desire for things to go the way he envisions them -a possible special interest in the royal guard and/or spaghetti -unashamed love of things that are commonly considered "childish" i.e. racecar bed, bedtime stories I just generally see a lot of autistic traits in this funky skeleton dude, many of which I myself share!
i love this one so much!! in that regard he's quite relatable actually, i just think he's neat!! /pos
all of my faves but especially these: - Terra (Kingdom Hearts) - semi confirmed, in the games he's slightly coded as autistic and in the novels he's much more heavily coded as autistic - Ienzo (Kingdom Hearts) - just me self projecting on my fave - Sir Aaron (Pokemon 8th movie) - I... have no idea where this one came from. not really supported by canon either. I just vibe with this - Clow Reed (CardCaptor Sakura) - again, no idea where it came from. this one is a little more implied though? he's definitely a Weird Kid and I vibe really hard with that so I guess that's that - L (Death Note) - VERY heavily implied/coded in canon so p much confirmed ...I have a few more but those are characters with literally 2 seconds of screentime so I guess they're more like OCs than actual canon characters, haha
honestly that's so valid!! personally, i think there's no shame and nothing wrong with autism headcanons that have little/no basis in canon. if you can relate to them, then so be it!! /pos i find the L one pretty interesting, i never really thought of that before—but now that you say it, from what i know about him, i can see it!!
i really vibed with alia in "i love arlo!" i headcanon her being autistic/adhd and there was a whole song about her seemingly dealing with overstimulation, in a really sweet and respectful way for a children's cartoon. edit: also entrapta in she-ra and the princesses of power is canonically autistic and one of the crew members who helped create her is as well which is nice :o) wait also marcy in amphibia who i just learned has the same voice actor as alia also libby in the ghost and molly mcgee
omg the song you mention sounds really nice...i really like that, not only is it important for people to understand overstimulation but it's also really nice that viewers (especially younger viewers) might have someone that they can see themselves in. so i like that a lot!! thank you for saying this, i should check it out!! also :^0000 i think i ought to check that out too, i would love to see some canon rep so i'm excited about that!!
Not a headcanon, but Wattson from Apex Legends and Symmetra from Overwatch are both canonly autistic! Both of them have a lot of different autistic tendencies, and for the most part, they're depicted... fairly well? Actually, whenever Wattson makes a fence in game, she actually stims! She claps her hands together. It's really cute!
that's so neat!!! and i love that detail, it's really nice to see a character stimming and it's portrayed in a neutral to positive way!!! it makes me so happy to hear about canonically autistic characters, so this is cool!!
Philip from Kamen Rider W, unquestionably. Detailed knowledge of extremely specific and obscure stuff? Weird hyperfixations? Simultaneously not understanding things that everyone else thinks of as perfectly normal? I have never related to a character so much.
he sounds like such a mood tbh, and a very interesting character! i never knew about kamen rider w before, but after looking it up it seems pretty cool ^^
I have Asperger's and I've related to Klaus Baudelaire from "A Series of Unfortunate Events" for a while - I feel like he (and by extension, his siblings) are neurodivergent in some way.
that's so valid!!!! and neat!!! if you don't mind me asking—would you say the traits you see in the baudelaire siblings are consistent across adaptations? or is it mostly in one material, e.g. the original books? i'm curious to know what you think, and maybe how you think the different iterations of the series compare—if at all—to one another. if you don't want to answer, though, that's totally alright!! /gen
