The Otherworld sections should be near pitch black without the flashlight on. I couldn't really tell much difference in the hospital footage between what should have been the Otherworld and the normal version.
Some of Angela's dialogue was new wasn't it? Which is worrying, I do not trust them to handle her character at all. It looks like the room with the boss fight related to her is different, I'm guessing the small enclosed room wouldn't work well with the new camera angle style.

I genuinely hate the trend of "All games must be over the shoulder camera now, even remakes" because it loses some of the atmosphere and effect that fixed camera angles had, and as a result other things have to be changed to accommodate it, not necessarily for the better.
Yeah, some of the dialogue is new and given Bloober's track record with characters like Angela....I'm apprehensive about what they're doing with her.
One thing I am concerned about, though. Have we seen Eddie yet? With this new trailer, I think we've now seen every character except for him...

Wasn't one of their previous games The Medium literally fixed camera angles as well? It seems like they went with this to place more focus on the combat and that's not really what I'd think of as the highlight of SH2...
I think that really heavy handed note about the otherworld at the start is new too? You just know they're going to add a ton to Angela's story and it's gonna be gross.
Yeah they were going through a lot of the early game all the way upto the hospital yet didn't show anything of Eddie at all. Maybe he got a massive redesign too.

I got like 20 min into Medium and then dipped to watch a playthrough because I could already tell where that was going and that I wasn't gonna like it.
Yeah, that note is new, too. I think both notes were? I'm REALLY hoping that all they're gonna do with Angela is the design change and keep her story mostly the same otherwise...
I'm hoping he hadn't got too much a change because the whole point of his character was to show just how badly bullying affects people and how it can cause them to snap when they otherwise might not.
He's basically a foil to James - both are murderers who only did so because of the extreme stress they were under, but whereas James did so out of love, then denied it and tried to forget because of the guilt, Eddie did so out of fury and ended up becoming a guiltless monster as a result.
So if they redesign him in such a way that removes that, or even worse, completely remove him, then you lose a pretty big part of the story...

Yeah I didn't play it just watched a playthrough and their handling of the themes in that game are what destroyed any faith I had in them.
Oh they're probably gonna add more notes about Angela because they'd probably consider it too "subtle" in the original. Everything they've added so far is just them been like "this wasn't clear enough let's add more to make it obvious!"
I feel like they completely missed the point of all the side characters so I'm not expecting good things from how they handle Eddie.

I think it looks neat. I mean, I'm probably biased because I've been waiting since Middle School for a new entry in the series without experiencing the originals for myself but... like... I dont care?
The monsters looked so neat in the trailer! Which honestly Is like... one of the few things I personally care about. Like just give me some creatures to study and I'm good the whole way.
Thats all I'll say here because the negativity, while valid to feel, makes me sad aaa.

I'm not going as far as some people are - I don't mind how the new models for the people look and I think the people getting up in arms over them are complete and utter morons, and I do think the environments look FANTASTIC.
But to me, the monster models that we have seen in relatively good detail - the Nurses and the Lying Figures - look...off. The Nurses don't look too bad in comparison to the originals, but both they and the Figures have this odd, almost plastic look to them that makes it feel like the models aren't textured properly.
The other thing I'm worried about is Bloober have a VERY bad track record with how they handle sensitive topics in their past games, something that is PREVALENT throughout the entirety of SH2, and since the trailers show they have already made some big changes, that they might have changed other things to the detriment of the game is a very valid concern.
If you're hyped for it, great! Good for you! Continue looking forward to it! And no, that's not sarcasm. That's being genuine.
But don't try to make other people feel bad for not feeling that way. Just like you're allowed to be positive and express that, so are we allowed to feel negative and express that in a non-offensive manner.
You think THIS is negative, you should see the Silent Hill subreddit. It's....bad.

One thing I saw someone point out about the enemies I hadn't noticed is they seem to have two different versions. The normal one in the early game then a more sickly/diseased looking version in later areas. Which I actually like, it adds a bit of variety since there's only so many enemy types so changing them like that slightly as the game goes on works and it also fits the plot that they would start looking more like that later in the game as James gets closer to remembering and accepting the truth.
I just hope they spend the next few months polishing the actual models because the environments look so gorgeous the actual enemies just look very odd against them.
Actually you know what it could use? Some Film Grain. Something I usually turn off in a lot of games but always worked well with Silent Hill. Hopefully it's an option in the final version and it's just disabled here for the sake of previews but I feel like it would help a bit with getting rid of that "too clean" look everything has.

I wasn't trying to make other people feel bad /gen. If it ever comes off that way it's not that I want others to feel bad, but I am rather low empathy and I occasionally have a hard time fathoming others not feeling a way I do? So its not "your opinion is wrong and you should feel bad," and more of, "wait, people DON'T think this is neat? Weird..." not that it's weird actually, I'm aware all opinions are valid about this. Not an excuse for my behavior, I know, but an explanation. ^^"
I wasn't aware of Bloobers issues with sensitive topics personally, but I do know about said topics in sh2, as I took the time to read up on character and monster lore repeatedly (one of the ways I enjoy horror games with monsters in them is by "studying" said monsters.).
I do think its cool how it looks like the town will be more open for exploration, I've always wanted to do some Silent Hill exploring. I kind of like the way the Figures look, though I know its not what they should be. I like the feeling of this waxy, plasticy thing that looks so human but isn't, its skin is too perfect (for now, until James advances), and it moves... like that. A predatory species that uses mimicry of our own kind.
I dunno, I'm rambling, sorry! I hope I wasn't too mean in my previous comment. /gen
