So I've been really active on Chicken Smoothie for several years, since 2010 before losing that password and making another account, and I just lost the passion for it a while ago,, so I started giving away more and more of my pets there for gems and stuff, but I can't help but feel sad each time one of the trades gets accepted...
I feel like I've spent so much time and money getting an almost complete collection and now I am just giving it all away, but I simply don't enjoy the game much anymore and I am a lot happier on here ://
Does anyone else who has quit other pet sites felt the same way?

Most I quit due to lack of interest over time. However, there was one notable exception.
I really used to love Valenth, until it was one day shut down because its creator got screwed over by Subeta's creator. Immediatly quit Subeta too and haven't looked back since.

Yes, oh yes.
I joined a site called Valley of Unicorns before I even knew Flight Rising existed. I joined just as one of the events was about to start and I instantly fell in love with the place - the horses were gorgeous, the events were spaced just enough to not be overwhelming but you still really looked forward to them, new releases were relatively frequent, the player numbers were big enough to feel like a full site but small enough to not feel lost amongst the masses.
It was a good place, but then everything changed.
The staff was always small, but then the last one left in the middle of judging a contest and the only staff left was the founder of the site. When it became clear they weren't coming back, players suggested getting new staff and the founder shot that down completely, not even volunteer staff. That should've been a red flag, but idiot like I am, I stayed.
Then she started changing things. Without the other staff to at least temper her plans, she just...did what she wanted, regardless of what the players said.
New releases stopped happening outside of events. Then events got canned completely with a promise of "eventually coming back". Three years later, nothing. Prizes from previous events still not given out. Glitches everywhere. The breeding system completely broken. The "easy to get" game currency became difficult to get after the best way to get it was removed, which shot the prices up and skyrocketed the in-game:premium currency ratios...then the premium currency was removed.
The site is now basically a ghost town, with the few players left trading everything for other sites. Myself included, and that genuinely hurt because some of those horses I literally spent months saving up for and more months waiting for someone to actually sell them. I kept a handful of things I truly love, but aside from breeding there is literally nothing to do on there anymore, so now I am stuck trying to get rid of the things I no longer want but can't because of how few people still play. I've had more in-game currency offers than other site offers, but what's the point of getting currency for a site you're leaving...?

*Looks at lair* Ah yes. Organised chaos.
Every once in a while I will pop my head back into Magistream..... but I haven’t been there in years and I feel immense guilt for my pets lol.
I left initially because I took a commission from someone who didn’t pay me, and then bc I wouldn’t send the finished product without payment, they started ranting about me in the forums and I got anxious. (I was 15.... just ye olde babie)

It has been a few weeks since I deleted my account on Howrse. I lost my interest in it some years ago. It had been coming back every now and then, but essentially, I didn't enjoy Howrse any more.
A big factor of losing interest in the game is Ubisoft's takeover and the evergoing change of gameplay. When I started it, the horse breeding and competition were the main focus of the game. You could count on one hand how many times a year there were special events. The rest of the time, you really only had your horses and equestrian center to build up and play with.
Nowadays, there is one event after another, with special promotions on every single weekend. There are more divine horses than horse breeds available, and the initial spirit of the game has vanished (at least for me). You can really feel how Ubisoft wants to make the most monetary gain out of this game. (Note: there's nothing wrong with publishers wanting to make money with their games, however, with how it's been happening with Howrse, I really, really don't like the course they're taking -- especially when you keep in mind that it's targeted at children.)
I had been contemplating deleting my account for a long time, always not doing it by thinking, "What if I come back? I spent real life money on it, I can't just let everything go to waste by just deleting everything." Sunken cost fallacy and all that stuff... but in the end, I quit, and I don't regret it. 10/10 would do again.

Oh man.... I've abandoned so many pet sites LOL !
Mweor, Lioden, Wolfplay, Dragoncave, ChickenSmoothie...
...Yeah. I just end up losing interest. Flight Rising has been the only one I've more or less stuck too. I just wonder how long Dappervolk will last for me lol.
Edit:: Can confirm Dappervolk did not last long lol. The whole daily quests and stuff that you HAD to do in order to progress was just a nope from me. Cute art and fun customization, but not enough to keep me there daily.

I've tended to abandon pet sites because I get bored with them.
I put a lot of time and effort into a site called BeastKeeper, which had gorgeous art and wonderful breeding mechanics, but then the devs put all their effort into a new project called BeastEon, which afaik is still in progress and I have not heard of updates from it in ages, and the site became a ghost town. It was never super active to begin with but "3 users active" is a depressing statistic on the front page.
I'm still playing Neopets actively even though I get to watch the collapse of that site in real time. I will go down with that ship, darn it.

Hey, friendly reminder to drink water, stretch, and take a short break if you can. Stay healthy! Also, don't forget about any chores or tasks you might be putting off.

Wait, what happened with Subeta's creator? I just joined that site recently and it's been the only pet site other than FR and to a lesser extent Xanje that's held my interest longer than a day... but if the creator is scummy I don't want to support it...
