digimon world 1 on PS1
i still remember all the weird feelings it gave me when i was, like, 7 years old?
i miss playing a whole lot of games (dont talk to me about the spyro and crash revamp or i will cry and scream), but DW1 was..a very interesting experience for me. I still recall those dreams I had about secret dungeons/tunnels back then..

When I was young I was obsessed with educational games like Alex Builds His Farm and 3D Dinosaur Adventure; Things that are out of print and can't ruin on modern software without some SERIOUS fiddling.
Also Lego Rock Raiders. That was my jam.

i can technically still play it but i have to lower myself to using a Windows OS.
I did hop on my wife's laptop the other day and the servers are still running :)
I actually registered that game (all of $10 - which considering I used to play it on a shared dialup connection with my brother back in the day equates to about 0.0000000000000000000000001 cents per game, maybe slightly less) and nowadays I have to play as a guest because I have no idea how to register on a new machine

Guitar Hero Live ;-;
I may have been one of the like, exactly 12 people on Earth who actually enjoyed this installment of Guitar Hero, but man if it wasn't fun while it lasted.
this game isn't even that old compared to most of this thread, just the way it became pretty much unplayable was awful all around

Never be afraid to ping me!
I really enjoyed Carmen Sandiego and Where's Waldo games, but I outgrew them, and so did technology.
I also liked really simple maze games. Like, the maze is stationary, and your character moves with the keypad, with minimal animation. Most other maze games have too much other stuff going on.

I had this LPS game that was programmed into it's own little controller, it was pink? I played it to death but I don't remember anything else.

I remember this too? Wow, I wish I knew what it was called. I spent hours on that thing.

Neosaurs.
It was a browser MMORPG about dinosaurs. You fought enemies, acquired gear, completed quests and evolved. I don't remember the story honestly. It was published by Microsoft, bought by another company and stayed strong until it was announced that they were shutting down for unknown reasons. From what I've seen, Disney owns it now. I used to play it alot and was devastated when I realized the servers no longer functioned.
Miscrits, also a browser game.
It was a pokemon-style catch-and-battle game. You would capture Miscrits (the equivalent of pokemon) and leveled them up and watched them evolve. I also don't remember the lore properly, but there was this person called "Apollo Nox" that apparently corrupted miscrits (?) and unleashed elemental beasts that you needed to kill. It was kind of a open-worldish game, but that changed and I'll explain why later. The game was quite popular until the owner company started facing financial issues. It got bad at the point where they started adding micro-transactions. The game stayed strong until the financial issue got even worse and they shoved more micro-transactions. Eventually, the game started going downhill and the developers became desperate. Artists quit or they didn't have money to pay them. In an act of desperation, they started releasing OP, buffed up creatures that were recolors and basically hyper shines. These creatures sold, but eventually it started to low down. At a certain point, no more original creatures were released and they just kept making OP recolors. They kept going until they went inevitably bankrupt. The mobile game functioned for a while until the servers were shut down.

there are two i can really remeber:
Sonic Riders on the gamecube was one of our favourite games growing up, but we didn't notice when the rental store was selling off their gamecube games to switch to wii-only rentals :x
same thing happened with Super Monkey Ball Adventure
EDIT: oh by we i mean my sister and i

Don't worry about it. Silly Arcade's just telling magnetic field jokes for his own amusement.
I'm probably a huge outlier, but I still have my favorite Sonic R cd, and it will not run past the menu screen because the disk is scratched. I used to love just messing around in the levels to find all the secret areas, and playing the balloon levels instead of actually racing was definitely my favorite. Clearly that awful jpop/butt-rock music affected my taste in music for years too. I've never been huge on Sonic, but I loved that game. :'D
I also have an old Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis cd that's equally scratched, and again, it sorta runs, but usually stops after certain menus and tutorials. My fiance even tried getting me a digital version online, just to play it, and even that didn't work (closed after certain menus/tutorials). It's your typical park-building sim with a couple modes, like one where you could drive around and take photos of the dinos up close, but you could still get attacked by carnivores. The park-building section of it was pretty meh, as there were only a few basic buildings to put down for guests, but the dinos looked really cool, acted accordingly if you mixed species, and the touch of bad weather affecting your park was a cool, if mildly frustrating, addition (hurricanes destroyed fences, or hurt guests if you didn't have enough shelters).
On the same note, I haven't gotten Zoo Tycoon 1 or 2 (ultimate collection) to work yet on my pc, but that's because my cd drive is currently not plugged in, so I can't even test those.
