i love how fr is using different body types, and how out of the box this new species is. unfortunately for me i really don’t like grubs and such, so this breed isn’t for me. but that’s okay - there are gonna be things i don’t like, and things other people don’t like. what’s important is that other people like them, so im happy about that! i think this breed release has been met with a lot of controversy, so i hope that it doesn’t deter staff from doing other ‘out there’ breeds in the future. whilst i may not be a fan, i definitely want to see more.

FlowerOfFire as someone in Light this is a very strange opinion. The dragon isn't clan-locked, everyone can have one, so of course they should be able to comment on it. And again as a Light flight member I think these dragons are awesome. You can't say the whole flight dislikes them just because you do lol

They looks good,but not at all light themed.I personally love them and once mine grow/i gene them i will use them as a profile pic though.I hate posts like these because i imagine being a artist who spends all there time on making this one thing,thinking it sreally cool,and seeing the feedback being that people aren't fans.However,obvi this is a forum and constructive crit is nice,i just hope it stays that way :)

The other 10 flights have just as much access to the rest of the game as you do. Considering that you [i]chose[/i] to be a part of the Light flight gives you absolutely no jurisdiction as to what other people have opinions about.

It was a disagreement. Dragons don't have to have similar vibes just because they have the same origin region or deity. Arguably, that stifles the creativity of the art team, and does a disservice to us as players. Imagine that you pick your favorite Flight but your dragons only get to have [Flight specific characteristics].
I like the fact that, for ex, Guardians and Undertides don't look like they belong in the same place. Neither do Coatl and Banescales. I like that Everlux don't look like Pearlcatchers or Imperials. I think it's good for the team not to put too many boxes around themselves in the design process.

Looking for: Olive/Watermelon/Cobalt, any Element. Will pay A LOT for it.
I can understand why some might not like them, but I think it's funny when people try to claim it doesn't match light's "aesthetic" when it's, you know, up to staff to decide what a flight's aesthetic is
Honestly, I think the little squishy guys are quite lovely. I also love the fact that shadow and light both have teeny weeny bug dragons! I like how fr is using different body types for some of the dragons, I personally think it has a positive impact. Although I would agree, they look more nature and earth than light, I would consider myself a fan.

i have a solution for those of you who hate the breed so much
step 1: dont own them as permas
step 2: when you buy fodder, filter for everlux dragons. buy the fodder priced ones.
step 3: when you run out of those, turn the filter off and resume buying as normal
this will prioritize getting rid of everlux dragons and maybe that will make you feel better. just exalt them! it's fun!

I love Veilspuns and Aethers, and def didn't feel like I needed another bug boy. But if they wanted to go that route I think a praying mantis or spider or something like that would've been way more interesting than a grub. (Lightweaver/Orbweaver spider? Orchid mantis dragon??? Something like that?!)
I've been WAITING for the Light ancient and have been following the threads for months, and was really excited about some of the ideas/designs people were predicting. For me, I believe you can dragon-ify anything! I'm excited by unique interpretations of "dragons" that aren't super classical (loved the kirins or the rabbit ideas). But these guys are just a huge miss for me conceptually and visually. Their proportions are awkward; it feels like the devs tried to reference too many things at once. I understand Light's lore is kind of dense and having something goofy could balance it out but I also don't think anyone was asking for it and most of us were expecting something different.
It's a case where trying to do something unexpected and going against what everyone was predicting has backfired a bit imo, they're just so underwhelming and disappointing for me personally. I didn't care so much for Dusthides either so I was really looking forward to this one u_u
edit: I also want MORE big dragons and LESS tiny beady eyes, makes the eye types completely irrelevant :(
