I was wondering if I could defend slate with my g1, only to realize they are shale. I swear, I cannot get these two colors correct ever. XD
So that would be my major complaint about the color slate, my own inability to ever remember which is which.
Anyway, I think your undertide scry is quite pretty, even with slate as basic.

I dislike radioactive, I think on some dragons it can look amazing but I personally prefer more muted colours and radioactive looks so out of place in my lair!

Flair / Eel could be an option as they have some tones that help to tie in slate, I think your dragon is rather pretty :)

ah, a fellow Grapefruit hater! I weep over the obnoxious pink accent... it's present so much it barely gives the green and yellow a chance...

I don't think there's any one color in particular that I have a grudge against, but I hate it when the accent color is just so far out of left field that it becomes hard to match to other things, like the absurdly bright yellows that appear for some of the darker blues, or the greens in the red range, etc (I know it's prob bc they're complimentary on the color wheel but sometimes it's just so frustrating.)
I'm a big believer in XYZ's and that sometimes all a dragon needs is the right gene combo. I've kept so many fodder dragons......
However. There are cases where I just. can't. get. a color to work, no matter the gene. It's usually when a color just doesn't match the range of the other two. Never been able to make Algae work on this boy, finally gave up and left the tert basic lol

And Tomato was really hard to match to this kid

Not as frustrating as Pistachio is proving to be on this one. I can get some great scries with his primary and secondary but that tert just will not cooperate. I feel bad just leaving it basic bc there's so many fun linebreaking terts I wanna use

I think Coral is the absolute worst. If I ever hatch something with that color, it's instant exalt! It's just a very unattractive color to me and I can't quite explain it. I've never seen it look good with anything

@silverphantom I really tried, I think Paradise helps with toning it down, and it matches the eyes
