[size=4]Not long ago, a group of people decided to spontaneously gift each other, spurred by one of the founder's birthday. Wishlists were raided, PMs sent, Crossroads crossed. Eventually, they were scooted out of the Arcane Discord (love you guys [emoji=heart]) and wound up in a rather crowded group chat. From there, a server was born. Small, at first, but it quickly grew as friends brought friends and their friends brought friends. And through it all, the gifting continued; big and small, common and rare, all sorts of gifts were given. These small acts of kindness brought so much joy to peoples’ lives. It was always about spreading love and happiness, and making someone’s day.
After a long, long time and much preparation, we, the founders of this server would like to invite you, the gift givers and joy bringers, of Flight Rising! Or maybe you just need a bit of friendship and positivity in your life! All are welcome. No matter your flight, no matter your timezone, no matter your wealth or ability to give, we invite YOU, to our little server. And we thank you for stopping by.[/size]

Sappiness aside! For real, come say hi! We’re cool people. There are a few things to keep in mind, aside from the general “do unto others” rule. Obviously, everything is kept within Flight Rising rating standards. If you wouldn’t post it in these forums, don’t post it in the server. And, we have some guidelines when it comes to gifting:[/size]

As a community, we like to give, but no one is required to. All members are their own people who gift and do not gift who they like. As such, it is very possible to join this server to never be gifted and never gift another, and that is okay! We’re a group of people just chilling and having fun. Don’t worry about it. Don’t feel bad if you can’t gift as much as others. Don’t ask to be gifted though, that defeats the purpose.
Wishlists are a courtesy to any who might want to gift you, but they also represent an understanding that you will gift fairly. Of course, we all want to "win" the gift war by giving more than we receive. Keep in mind, it makes people happy to make others happy, so shutting that down with a staunch and stubborn "I will send back anything gifted to me!" or something similar, kills the mood, and that's no fun for anyone. Feel free to say, "not today (or [insert item]), this is something I want to do on my own!" Don't just shut people out for the glory.

Hi! I'm Velika {or Vel}, a mod on GBBR! You'll see me sneaking about in the server often. Don't be afraid to ask me any questions, server related or Flight Rising related!
I am a college student majoring in Animal Sciences, and thus during the school semester I'll be around less, but never think I'm completely unavailable! My love of animals stems from my childhood raising Corgis with my mother - you might see puppies in the photo channels!
Aside from dogs, I have a deep love for dragons. I am an avid Wings of Fire fan and may share my writings of my Wings of Fire OCs. I also read or listen to audiobooks of as many dragon books as I can find! I'm always willing to talk dragons.
For my Flight Rising life, I have a great many projects I'm working on, including an Elemental Representative project, a Coatl Coli army project (made of entirely G1 dragons), and an army of Eternally Youthful dragons. Peruse my lair if you're interested!

I'm a mod on the discord and I mostly help out with backend/graphics stuff, so I like to think I'm something of a cryptid pfft. sometimes I will poke my head out into the surface like a little groundhog. the gang is super friendly and welcoming so even if you're just a lurker like me you'll still be able to join in randomly then vanish again without a trace. it's fantastic :D
