Biography

A pristine idea of heaven exists in the minds of dragonkind. A figure of pure and unending good, a symbol of salvation and the abode of the higher entities.
Untouchable.
A constant reminder of the reward of those that do ‘good’ in their lives.
Power unmatched.
Chiron is one dragon that can say with full certainty that these views are wrong. The domain of heaven is made out to be this area filled with pure beings that would never even dream of a life that was not purity.
Ages ago, Chiron used to be a healing angel, blessed with the gift of healing any ailment known to dragonkind. No matter the seriousness, one incantation from Chiron took care of it.
However, they remember the injustices caused by heaven. They find it hard to forget how they contributed to bias and discrimination. They remember the day their beliefs were shattered, shards of yellow cutting through their very soul, burning its way out of their skin.

They stare helplessly at the young dragon lying on the makeshift bed in front of them, at the predatory disease eating its way through her veins, dangerously close to her heart. Another case of the foreign magic-induced parasite. The soldiers had started calling it 'Heaven-Conqueror'. The enemy had been infusing their weapons with it, ensuring that if they didn’t perish on the battlefield, they would have a slow and painful death later.
The dragon on the cot shifted, groaning in agony, barely able to move due to the severity of the injury and the progression of the disease.
Chiron mustered up their strength once again, calling on the divine blessing they were bestowed with, feeling its swirl in their veins. They mutter a word, pressing their glowing palm to the wound, grimacing at the pressure they put on it, and the distressed expression on the other dragon’s face. The magic flows into the wound, and it feels like everything will be alright, until it isn’t. The magic stops, and no matter how many ancient statements Chiron speaks, it refuses to answer their call, it refuses to save this dragon.
Tears of frustration seep out of helpless eyes, healer and wounded bewildered and terrified by the outcome of this experience.
Mere days later, Chiron is the one who breathes the cleansing fire onto the dead dragon’s pyre, recalling their last moments, and their own failure, weeping desperation and grief.

It was the first time Chiron had doubted the justice of heaven, for how could the incarnation of justice ever commit such a crime?
After multiple similar incidents, they had confronted the deities, and their worst suspicions were proven to be truths. Their powers were biased, only allowing them to heal dragons of a certain status, and leaving them to watch in despair as blocks were placed on their magic when they tried to help others.
Naturally, they rebelled, refusing to offer assistance to those who had led them astray, irritating the deities with their "disobedience". Chiron was then exiled from heaven, powers stripped away from them, with the expectation that they would return after realising how better off they were as an angel.
Chiron was more than happy to prove them wrong, finding solace in a forgotten god’s domain, setting up a life from scratch. They established an apothecary, proving that they could still help those in need without the so-called blessings of the gods they had come to despise.

Written by Desires1

With curious dragon kind becoming more and more ambitious in finding the leads of the past,
obelisks were broken out of the curse that imprisoned them to the cold stone.

Chiron struggled to move from the ages of stasis they were put in only briefly until the glow of
their markings illuminated their body. The blessing, they had forgotten already, was put to work in restoring their body to how it was in its prime. Thinking back before the time, they couldn't quite remember who they were nor much about the time, but it was unimportant at the moment. They had to find somewhere to rest... somewhere that was far away from the underground system that entombed them for all these years. Spreading their wings, they sought to find a more familiar, friendly location.

The journey wasn't long until their eyes landed upon the Grove. The flowers that were growing
brought the warm memories of peace and the knowledge of healing qualities of each and every flower. Instinctually, they landed near the small river to delicately pick flowers and place them in their bag. Chiron was more sure than ever that they have been there before- that they had walked in the soft flowing stream and used the blessings of the land to help others. It was then that the memories came back...and they wished to use the abundance of their knowledge at their disposal and their affinity towards healing for the purpose of treating anyone who was ill, wounded, or on death's bed.

"If a dedication to serving everyone is considered evil, then let me fall for I do not wish to be considered good"
Chiron was once a divine angel that was tasked as a healer. Restricted to helping only specific
species, they decided that they no longer wanted to stay in heaven. What was the point of power if you couldn't use it to help others in need? Cast out of heaven until they'd get their mind straight again, they were forced to start their life over as an obelisk. In that they would dedicate themselves to medicines, treatments, and techniques to help anyone that needed it.
Design notes: Their essence form those lotus flowers around them passively. The yellow parts somewhat glow as they're extentions of the healing properties of their blood. Cracked parts from the veined is actually a representation of their body not being able to completely hold their true form, but the blessing is mitigating this breaking down to an extent
