@Kitari - I have several ungened or single gene dragons. Sometimes colors look best without the addition of genes and I'm fine with keeping them that way. :)

I have several dragons that are Basic/Basic/Circuit. I like the way dark basic colors make lighter Circuit colors pop:

I'm the same way! I've spent so much time in the scrying workshop, but no matter what I try, I love the way my custom Azalea looks without any genes:

My girl Autumn (the one in my icon) has a basic primary. I just cant seem to find a primary that would work for her, other than maybe iridescent, but it still wouldn't look as nice as basic. I still have my hopes that maybe a primary will come along one day that looks good with her.
But I do have a bunch of dragons that only work with basics for various reasons, but mostly because they look a lot better and it fits them more, or for character reasons.

I'm guilty of the same thing xD The majority of my dragons are TG, or DG. There are two exceptions though, Karoo and Iraia. They look better being triple basic mirrors, but I couldn't help myself previewing them as TG/DG skydancers. Naphtha and Raven are DG, which is pretty good as it, though I still want too add /something/ to them. It's kinda sad that I always have the feeling that basics are 'incomplete' , even when some actually looks better without any gene at all.
