Teleportation is weird. You aren't quite used to it yet; your body is all tingly and your head swims. But the spell does appear to have sent you where your recruitment card promised it would.
Nearby you spot a small Snapper combing through a book.
She looks up as the crack from the teleportation spell fades. "Oh, hello! Welcome to Camp! I assume you're one of Rell's latest recruits?"
You nod. The world has mostly stopped spinning. The act of nodding gives it one last go-round.
"Well let's find you a room and some equipment! I'm DiamondOre, everydragon calls me Ore." she continues. The two of you start walking.
"So you probably know the basics already but here's a refresher: Rell does relic hunting work for various groups that study the old world. Remnants of the Arcane and Light Flights have recently found a mostly safe way into the Starfall Isles. There's a small base of operations set up in the Starwood Strand."
She hands you a map. "You'll need that. Keep it handy." The map shows several base camps spread across the habitable parts of the continent, including the just mentioned one in the Strand.
"Obviously we aren't going to just send you into dangerous, unexplored and untapped territory! You're here to learn! Oh, here's your plot."
Before you sits a plot of land, yes. Snow: Check. Space: Check. And...A weird pink button? It reads "Bonk me!"
Who are you to argue with a demanding button?
You bonk the button. It makes a (very) loud pop and unfolds into a rather spacious tent. "Isn't technology grand?" Ore says, laughing a little. "Your equipment will be inside. Get some sleep; this week will be busy!"
In the distance another crack of teleportation is heard. Ore excuses herself as you head inside.
