WHAT HAPPENED?
Rolled a 71, so an enemy clan attacked. Then rolled a 3, so 3 cats died. The clan lost Hazelwish, Archpuddle, and Deathstar lost one life.
The clan mourns in a meeting, but Mousebriar isn’t there as he was still caring for Deathstar. Hazelwish’s single kit, Waterflight, also grieves alone. Adderfang recovers her lost reputation by comforting Archpuddle’s kit Dustylight in the queens’ den as well as caring for Waterflight.
After the grieving period, the clan nominates new apprentices; they are the surviving two kits, Lizardkit and Mothkit.
They are now Lizardpaw and Mothpaw. Lizardpaw’s mentor is Mousebriar, and Mothpaw’s mentor is Nightdark, who surprisingly hasn’t had an apprentice yet.
Dustylight has two kits -- Fallowkit, a delicate white tom with grey patches, and Coldkit, an already snappy cream-and-grey she-cat.
Shadowsky, Fallenbriar, and Darkleaf go to visit the kits. Shadowsky shows interest in Coldkit, and Darkleaf is thankful that the recluse medicine cat might soon have an apprentice.

LEADER
Wolfshade: A large light gray tom with a darker gray tabby face, paws and tail-tip. Has a long jagged scar over his nose, claw-battered ears, various battlescars over his pelt as well as a missing chunk of fur at his neck. Piercing amber eyes. Wolfshade is a strong and intimidating leader.

DEPUTY
Darkmask:A small and sleek seal point tom. Has a nick in his ear and icy blue eyes. Darkmask is a calm and calculating presence. It's near impossible to tell what he's thinking.

HEALERS
Ivyspirit: A huge, hulking white tom with one blue eye and one brown eye. Several facial scars. Ivyspirit is a standoffish, aggressive tom with a hidden penchant for herbs.
Cosmospaw: A tortoiseshell she-cat with bright golden eyes, deep chest scars and a bent front leg. Mysterious and enigmatic, Cosmospaw claims to have knowledge of the stars.

WARRIORS
Softstep: A lithe calico she-cat with blue eyes. She's quiet, a little cold, observant, and efficient in everything she does.
Slatesoul: A long-furred gray tabby cat with splashes of white with stony gray eyes. A calm and soothing cat, Slate's a pillar of emotional strength to those around them.
Duskheart: A seal point tom with dark blue eyes. Duskheart is talented, cautious yet brave and will always do what he feels is right.
Rabbitblaze: A brown and white patched cat with green eyes, missing most of their tail. Scrappy and a force of nature in their own right, Rabbitblaze has a determination and drive that is essential to DriftClan's spirit.

Rabbitblaze had become difficult to deal with. Duskheart always managed to ration their energy and ensure they could pay proper attention to their rowdy best friend, but then training Maplepaw really became more important as the nights started to get colder. Being a nomadic clan who roamed around in order to find enough food in the sprawling twolegplace, prey would soon start to become scarce as the cold weather approached. It was more and more important that Duskheart teach Maplepaw how to hunt and forage, and the young cat took on the responsibility with a seriousness that surprised their mentor.
Unfortunately, the more time Duskheart spent passing on teachings that had been vital to Mistwhisker, the clan's best hunter, the more Rabbitblaze started to get annoyed with him. Duskheart didn't get why his best friend would be mad that he was doing his duty and fulfilling his mentor's legacy, but Rabbitblaze argued something about how Duskheart never had time for him anymore and Duskheart replied blankly that Rabbitblaze was acting like a kit.

A quarter-moon later and they still weren't talking, and Duskheart... missed Rabbitblaze's presence at his side, yet couldn't forgive the brown-and-white warrior for what he'd said.
Maplepaw was happy to spend more time training, and was always impressing Duskheart with their improvements, taking every single critique with a sharp expression and getting it right the next time.

Darkmask tried to involve himself with Duskheart more, but the younger warrior understood that his father's attention was understandably also focused on his recovering mate. Still, he enjoyed whenever they were able to go hunting together like the old times, chasing each other around the city and batting at stray leaves that floated by on the wind.

Meanwhile, oddly enough, Rabbitblaze found comfort in Ivyspirit and Slatesoul, complaining to them about how Duskheart was behaving like a totally different cat. Ivyspirit had little to say in response, but Slatesoul made sure to be there for the younger warrior and keep Rabbitblaze company, guiding Rabbitblaze through his aggravation best they could.
Wolfshade spent a lot of his time in recovery quiet and brooding. Duskheart consoled him but also called him a pouty baby. While the huge gray tom likely would have torn anyone else to shreds, he took his mate's teasing with a snort and turned his head away.

Coyotepaw wasn't doing so well in her warrior training. Crowpaw's stalking was completely soundless, Maplepaw could pin either of the other two apprentices in a matter of seconds, and Coyotepaw... had messed up trying to scout and led the Clan into an alley she'd said was safe. Crowpaw's second check flagged it with a sharp, unpleasant scent, but the clan had already started to enter it.
Softstep called out for them to come back, but it was too late as a set of pin-sharp claws struck out from the darkness. Crowpaw reacted, quick as a flash and jumped to knock Coyotepaw out of the way of it. Crowpaw wound up slashed instead, and as the smell of blood hit the air, several pairs of angry, beady eyes opened from the dark alley. Raccoons!

Wolfshade reacted instantly, letting out a furious yowl that sounded almost like a roar as he leapt into the alley with his claws outstretched, tackling the raccoon looming over Crowpaw. The rest of the Clan followed his lead, and Slatesoul checked up on Coyotepaw, hauling her to her paws and making sure she was okay.

Wolfshade reared back and took a strip of fur and flesh off the largest racoon in one blow, attracting the majority of it's attention as Slatesoul jumped on it's back. The two cats took on the racoon together. Darkmask stayed nearby, providing backup and keeping other raccoons from joining into the fight. He shouted something about making sure the exit was clear, but it was clear this wasn't about to be a quick fight.

Coyotepaw snarled at one of the younger raccoons, trying to follow her clan's lead, but the bigger animal bowled her over with ease. Coyotepaw had the breath knocked out of her, she gasped for air out on the ground. Before she could be overwhelmed by the creature's teeth and gnarled claws however, a blur of red and white fur popped out from the darkness and Coyotepaw felt both grateful and frustrated. Maplepaw!

"It's gonna be alright!" Smiling somehow, Maplepaw reassured their sister before jumping to rake over and over again at the youngling's face and ears until the raccoon screeched and backed off, trailing blood.
"Stick by me, okay? Maplepaw nodded to her, and Coyotepaw deflated as she nodded back, humiliation and fear mixing together to pin her ears against her head. This was all her fault.

Cosmospaw and Ivyspirit fought back to back, Ivyspirit more brutal and desperate than ever to defend their apprentice. Marrow was on his back after being hit on his blindside, but Softstep quickly stepped in to help, the sound of her movement entirely dampened by the sound of the chaos around her, and took Marrow's attacker by surprise.

After a few minutes of hissing and screeching and blood spilled in the alleyway, Rabbitblaze just wanted it to end already. The thing was, Wolfshade was stubborn and full of a fury to defend them and prove the clan strong. It was something they liked about him, the other's confidence in the face of impossible odds. In that moment though, as Rabbitblaze watched another few shapes surge through the alleyway entrance, they felt a steady drip of fear like cold water down their spine.

"There's more?" The young warrior groaned, but the response they got surprised them. Two cats- one black, one brown, surged into the alley and threw themselves at one of the racoons close to Rabbitblaze.
"We're here to help! You mouse-brains should have never gotten this close to raccoon-rip alley!" The brown cat snapped, and Rabbitblaze snarled back a; "just get on with it!" which was as good as 'thank you' coming from the brown-and-white warrior.

Duskheart ended up unable to roll out from the grasp one of the bigger raccoon, no matter how hard he attacked it. He was wracking his brain to think about what he should do- what would Mistwhisker do? But it was all a blank as the raccoon's sharp dirty claws scratched at him over and over.
"Wake up, light-paw!" It was Rabbitblaze that came to the rescue. Annoying, childish, caring Rabbitblaze. They pulled the raccoon off of Duskheart by the tail, enraging the beast, and then teamed up with Duskheart to take it down. The two young warriors fought side by side like nothing had changed, and Duskheart realized that perhaps... he kind of missed the feeling of being completely in sync.

It felt like an eternity before they were able to actually pull back out raccoon-rip alley. The two newcomer cats were a big help in making sure everyone got out, staying to protect the entrance and cover anyone running. Wolfshade was last out, exhausted and limping but he still managed to scratch up an ear on his way out. Outside, the black cat introduced themselves as Kraft, and their friend as Stark. The two offered to show the Clan a safe space to rest for the night, and while Wolfshade was skeptical, Darkmask agreed to the offer. The spot turned out to be pretty cozy, complete with a mattress and a bowl of water underneath an outdoor staircase.

Wolfshade, Slatesoul, Ivyspirit and Crowpaw were initially thought to be the worst of the injuries. Duskheart accompanied Cosmos out of their makeshift camp on a desperate evening herb run. Because the Healers could really only keep with them whatever herbs they could carry, Cosmospaw needed to prioritize infection-stopping herbs over blood-stopping wants. While cobwebs were good, it was easier and faster to use old bits of cloth, especially since their makeshift-camp had plenty.

But by the time they'd returned to camp, Rabbitblaze had been apparently hiding an injury they couldn't pretend wasn't there any longer. Duskheart's eyes widened with horror upon seeing their best friend passed out with blood coming from their stomach, and Ivyspirit hauled himself up, ignoring the deep cut over his eye and rushed to help.

Duskheart didn't leave Rabbitblaze's side that night.
;u; so as it turns out, I rolled a 99 on Rabbitblaze's damage roll! this means, if my healers dont get a 95+ in the next four moons, Rabbitblaze will die from their injuries. love a little angst.

Fall 2 Year 4

EmberClan
- Lightleaf has asked to retire, and Whisperstar grants her request. She is thanked for her service, and will start having elder death rolls next moon.

- Leopardpaw has completed her medicine cat training. She is given the full medicine cat name of Leopardmoon.

- A patrol consisting of Sageleaf, Tigerclaw, Whisperstar, and Thistlethorn goes out and doesn't come home. When Willowbrook heads out to find them, she finds Whisperstar unconscious with no sign of the rest of the patrol. Willowbrook took Whisperstar back to camp, wheere the leader reveals she lost a life and the other cats have died. A vigil is held despite no bodies being found over the next few days.

- A few days later, two loners come into camp wanting to join the clan. Whisperstar welcomes them in, and gives them the names Coyotepelt and Gooseheart.

LostClan
- Birdfeather's kit is old enough to become an apprentice! She will now be known as Sandpaw, with Waveheart as her mentor.

- Flickershine has moved to the queen's den, and will give birth next moon.

- Lightleaf has asked to retire, and Whisperstar grants her request. She is thanked for her service, and will start having elder death rolls next moon.

- Leopardpaw has completed her medicine cat training. She is given the full medicine cat name of Leopardmoon.

- A patrol consisting of Sageleaf, Tigerclaw, Whisperstar, and Thistlethorn goes out and doesn't come home. When Willowbrook heads out to find them, she finds Whisperstar unconscious with no sign of the rest of the patrol. Willowbrook took Whisperstar back to camp, wheere the leader reveals she lost a life and the other cats have died. A vigil is held despite no bodies being found over the next few days.

- A few days later, two loners come into camp wanting to join the clan. Whisperstar welcomes them in, and gives them the names Coyotepelt and Gooseheart.

LostClan
- Birdfeather's kit is old enough to become an apprentice! She will now be known as Sandpaw, with Waveheart as her mentor.

- Flickershine has moved to the queen's den, and will give birth next moon.

Coalstar is an excellent hunter and every member of the clan knows that. The lithe, black cat blends into the scarred earth and shadows. Whatever they’re stalking will never know the leader is there until it’s under their claws. As if to prove this, Coalstar immediately catches two mice. When Valeriandapple accidentally startles a squirrel, Coalstar dives in and catches it as well. They drop the freshkill in front of the other cats, tail flicking triumphantly. Mackerelpaw gulps. They wants to prove their worth to their clan leader so they're determined to catch as much prey as they can. They stalk through the undergrowth, ears perked and whiskers quivering. Soon, they spy a shrew scuttling across the mossy ground. They leap from the cover and pounce on it. Not long after, they catch a robin too. Their mentor, Valeriandapple, is impressed. A burst of pride swells in the spotted grey cat's chest. Sometime later, Mackerelpaw spots a magpie sunbathing in the clearing. With a burst of speed, they pounce onto it. They wrestle with it as a flurry of feathers flies all around them. When the battle is over, they stare down in pride at the large bird they had successfully caught. But, then, they fall to the ground. Coalstar and Valeriandapple rush over to them in concern. Mackerelpaw quickly picks themself back up. "I'm okay! Everything's okay!" they meow despite their aching legs. The truth is that they're exhausted to the bone. The other cats decide to believe them, though, and the three return to camp with prey filling their jaws. Meanwhile, the medicine cat apprentice, Creampaw, searches the forest for any useful healing herbs. Unfortunately, they can't find anything. The three cats patrol and mark the borders of Hook Lake. Nothing seems out of the ordinary, besides Mackerelpaw's sagging tail. While they're patrolling, Rockflank catches the scent of prey in the air. "The borders are quiet. Why don't we hunt for a bit?" they suggest. Coalstar, who is [i]always[/i] eager to hunt, nods in agreement. Mackerelpaw gives an unenthusiastic grin. Coalstar and Rockflank dive into the brush, noses pointed at the ground. They track the scent until they come across a small flock of birds grazing next to the sandy shoreline. Coalstar instructs Rockflank to follow their lead. The two cats stalk through the brush until they're close enough to leap out onto the birds. As the flock takes flight, the cats manage to catch a bird each! Rockflank also notices an injured bird and quickly catches it, as well. When they return to the cover of the thick brush, they notice that Mackerelpaw hadn't caught anything. Mackerelpaw shrugs. "I guess I wasn't fast enough?" they bluff. "Fishbounce is sick," Cobwebcloud explains. The elder tortoiseshell lets out a wheezing cough as if to punctuate that sentence. "I'm moving them to my den so that we can keep a closer eye on the illness." Coalstar takes Valeriandapple and Mackerelpaw on a hunting patrol through the Charred Grove. The blackened trees loom high over their heads as the patrol moves silently through the undergrowth. The forest is alive with the scent of prey.

Coalstar is an excellent hunter and every member of the clan knows that. The lithe, black cat blends into the scarred earth and shadows. Whatever they’re stalking will never know the leader is there until it’s under their claws. As if to prove this, Coalstar immediately catches two mice. When Valeriandapple accidentally startles a squirrel, Coalstar dives in and catches it as well. They drop the freshkill in front of the other cats, tail flicking triumphantly.

When the battle is over, they stare down in pride at the large bird they had successfully caught. But, then, they fall to the ground.

Coalstar and Valeriandapple rush over to them in concern. Mackerelpaw quickly picks themself back up. "I'm okay! Everything's okay!" they meow despite their aching legs. The truth is that they're exhausted to the bone. The other cats decide to believe them, though, and the three return to camp with prey filling their jaws.

Meanwhile, the medicine cat apprentice, Creampaw, searches the forest for any useful healing herbs. Unfortunately, they can't find anything. They return to camp empty-pawed.
Near Hook Lake with:

Impressed by Mackerelpaw's skills during the hunting patrol, Coalstar adds them to the border patrol along with Rockflank. The three cats patrol and mark the borders of Hook Lake. Nothing seems out of the ordinary, besides Mackerelpaw's sagging tail.

While they're patrolling, Rockflank catches the scent of prey in the air. "The borders are quiet. Why don't we hunt for a bit?" they suggest. Coalstar, who is always eager to hunt, nods in agreement. Mackerelpaw gives an unenthusiastic grin.

Coalstar and Rockflank dive into the brush, noses pointed at the ground. They track the scent until they come across a small flock of birds grazing next to the sandy shoreline. Coalstar instructs Rockflank to follow their lead. The two cats stalk through the brush until they're close enough to leap out onto the birds. As the flock takes flight, the cats manage to catch a bird each! Rockflank also notices an injured bird and quickly catches it, as well.

When they return to the cover of the thick brush, they notice that Mackerelpaw hadn't caught anything. Mackerelpaw shrugs. "I guess I wasn't fast enough?" they bluff. The truth is that they were still exhausted from earlier, but they aren't going to tell anyone that.

When the patrol returns to camp, there is a commotion. The medicine cat, Cobwebcloud, is helping an elder cat move out of the elder den. The elder, Fishbounce, looks very weak. Their legs are wobbling beneath them.

"What's going on?" Coalstar asks.

"Fishbounce is sick," Cobwebcloud explains. The elder tortoiseshell lets out a wheezing cough as if to punctuate that sentence. "I'm moving them to my den so that we can keep a closer eye on the illness." Concern flashes in everyone's eyes.

EmberClan
- Whisperstar, Willowbrook, Songleaf, and Leopardmoon all have a meeting. They decide a younger cat should take over ask deputy so the next leader is younger. After some discussion, Briarleaf is appointed as the clan's new deputy at the next clan meeting.

- Willowbrook, Whisperstar, and Flareheart head out to hunt and don't come home after a while. Once again, the search party find Whisperstar one life less with no sign of the other cats. After a few days they are declared dead.

- Three injured cats are found at the border. After being brought to the camp and treated by Songleaf and Leopardmoon, they choose to stay. Whisperstar gives them the names Iris-snow, Iceflower, and Ashfire. Iceflower turns out to be expecting Ashfire's kits, and moves into the queens den. She will give birth next moon.

LostClan
- Brindlesea moves to the queen's den, and whill give birth next moon.

- Featherstar loses a life to a mysterious cause.

Gathering
- Whisperstar accuses LostClan of killing Willowbrook and Flareheart. Featherstar adamantly denies this, but with no proof otherwise the two leaders end up in an argument. The gathering is cut short when StarClan covers the moon with clouds, but the clans leave spitting insults at each other.

As a result, until the next gathering or when one of the leaders dies, whichever comes first, any number rolled between 65 and 75 on the daily event table will result in a clan attack.

Shorelight's ears flick back in shock as they watch Coalstar lash out towards the water. They swipe a fish out of the lake and clamp their jaws around it. Not long after, it's added to the growing pile of fish beside the three cats. Shorelight can't believe it. The cats of SingeClan are known for their adeptness at navigating the charred forest, hunting birds. Yet, here they are, being expected to [i]fish[/i]? "Come along, Mackerelpaw. It's important for you to learn how to fish before you become a warrior," Valeriandapple meows as they shoulder past Shorelight. Mackerelpaw follows after, their bushy tail swishing happily. Shorelight gulps back a sigh before trudging closer to the water. They stare at their reflection which stares back bitterly. "Shorelight!" Valeriandapple's meow snaps them out of their staring contest. "Why don't you show Mackerelpaw how it's done?" Shorelight can only start a new staring contest with Valeriandapple. [i]'Did they seriously just ask me that?'[/i] they think in disbelief. The spotted grey cat only tilts their head curiously. "What's wrong? You do know how to fish, right?" "I-uh-well-[i]of course[/i] I know how to fish!" Shorelight splutters. They don't. But it can't be hard, right? Coalstar is over there yanking fish after fish out of the water, after all. They just have to wait for the right moment to pounce. That's all there is to it, right? Shorelight crouches at the side of the lake and watches carefully. Suddenly, a shadow darts past their nose and their breath catches in their throat. They lunge forward...and dive straight into the water! The other cats watche in shocked disbelief. Soon, Shorelight breaks the surface of the water with a gasp. They claw their way back onto land, empty-pawed and dripping wet. Maybe it wasn't as easy as it looked. Sunlight warms the back of their pelt as Mackerelpaw begins to wake. With a yawn, they stretch their paws out. 'I'm feeling so much better today,' they think to themself with a soft purr. Looks like all they needed was a good night's rest!

"Are you sure you're feeling better?" Cobwebcloud asks again in disbelief. Fishbounce rolls their eyes.

"Of course I'm feeling better. Now let me leave this stuffy den, already!"

A sandy clearing stretches out all around them. The young warrior looks around but doesn't see anything. Their tail sags. Usually, the Sandy Dip is teeming with life. For some reason, it's unusually still and quiet today. [i]'Something probably flew over the forest and sent all the prey scuttling to their dens,'[/i] the ginger tabby thinks to themself. They're about to give up until birdsong suddenly erupts from the band of trees surrounding the clearing. Burnetflurry pauses. Their saffron-colored eyes flicker over to a thrush sitting on a thick, gnarled root. It preens its plumage, completely unaware of the warrior hidden in the underbrush. [i]'This is my chance!'[/i] The tabby finds themself holding their breath as they stalk closer and closer. Sunlight glows against the back of their striped pelt as they slink through the brush. As they draw closer, the thrush's head snaps up with an alarmed chirp. Its black eyes locks with Burnetflurry's gaze. [i]Now![/i] They dash forward and leap onto the bird, claws outstretched. It's over in an instant. "Wow! Nice catch, Burnetflurry!" a voice praises the young warrior from behind. They look up to see Honeystream and Badgergrowl emerging from some ferns, prey clamped in their jaws. Honeystream points their nose towards the opposite end of the clearing as Burnetflurry shakes the feathers from their pelt. "Let's return to camp, now. I'm sure Badgergrowl is eager to bring some freshkill to their mate!" What Happened...

Burnetflurry pads quietly through the undergrowth, ears swiveling back and forth. A sandy clearing stretches out all around them. The young warrior looks around but doesn't see anything. Their tail sags. Usually, the Sandy Dip is teeming with life. For some reason, it's unusually still and quiet today. - Iceflower has given birth to three kits! She and Ashfire name them Meadowkit, Mothkit, and Rosekit.

- Gooseheart is found dead one morning in her nest. Her cause of death is unknown.

- Briarleaf heads out on her own for a day on a hunt for cats to join the clan. When she returns, she brings with her 4 new clan members. Whisperstar gives them the names Rainstorm, Lightningwhisker, Rainbowshine, and Firepetal.

LostClan
- Brindlesea gives birth to a single kit! She and Talonspark name him Yellowkit.

- Splashpaw, Skypaw, Duskpaw, Grasspaw, and Mottledpaw have completed their warrior training! They are given the warrior names Splashfang, Skyfrost, Duskpool, Grassflower, and Mottledshadow.

-Toadfern announces she is expecting kits! She will move to the queens den next moon, and Birdfeather is asked to take over Patchpaw's training.

- The following cats have developed feelings for another cat;
Thistlestrike -> Magpiewing
Splashfang -> Dayshimmer
Duskpool -> Wrencloud
Mottledshadow -> Hopeheart

- Whisperstar has reached 120 moons, and will start recieving elder death rolls next moon.

- Deerpelt's kits are old enough to become apprentices! They will now be known as Dirtpaw, Wolfpaw, Palepaw, and Onepaw. Their mentors are Briarleaf, Blacktalon, Cherryfang, and Snowythorn.

- While on a hunting patrol, Lightningwhisker, Snowythorn, Onepaw, Rainbowshine, and Coyotepelt are attacked by a badger! Luckily no one is killed, however Lightningwhisker, Rainbowshine, and Coyotepelt are injured. Lightningwhisker will recover in 1 moon, Rainbowshine in 3 moons, and Coyotepelt in 1 moon. However, when the patrol returns back to camp, Songleaf and Leopardmoon quickly become concerned with Rainbowshine's injuries, as they look quite severe.

- Iris-snow has developed a crush on Coyotepelt.

LostClan
- Toadfern has moved to the queen's den, and will give birth next moon.

- The following cats have confessed to their crush, and are now mates!
