Found a spiffy serpent that may have wanted us dead, but we got away safely because we are smart dragons. Note to self: odds of beastclans living down here = zero. Odds of Anyone living down here =... also zero.

Faced with a web of newly-opened tunnels, we decided to take down their locations and spend a bit of time walking along the main trench before following any of the side passages.

As we progressed through the trench, collecting samples from its walls and carefully plotting out its dimensions, Bregnest stopped to investigate a peculiar set of tracks within the earth below us. Large and serpentine, snaking through the tunnel and still warm from the creature's belly, the tracks surely belonged to a formidable foe.

Not wanting any sour encounters with a beast so large and intimidating, we decided to turn back towards the place we had started the day's journey.

It was not until we had nearly reached the start of our day's journey that we noticed that we were being followed. Taking a look behind us, we caught a glimpse of two ice-cold eyes weaving back and forth along the trench floor in our direction. We needed to find a place to hide, and quickly!

Derry, ducking behind the nearest boulder, motioned for his teammates to follow. Staying still and quiet for what seemed like many minutes, he eventually led the group down the nearest side-passage, successfully avoiding the serpent.

Having managed to escape the serpent in the trench, we spent the rest of our day wandering through the vine-coated side passageways and collecting further samples. When we finally grew tired, we made our camp, logged our activities, and rested.

Welp made it past day 2! Thank goodness, Bloodbane managed to get us all in masks before the plants could do too much damage. We also found a cave full of rocks. At least it (seems) safe? :3c

We travelled for awhile, listening to out guide. He seemed to know here he was going, but I'm not entirely sure. For some reason, he thought that we had missed the cave entrance and went out to check. We waited for him to come back, and while he was gone Forged went out and brought in a bat for us to eat. Our guide finally got back, and he lead us to the cave entrance, that had been ahead of us and not behind. We made camp there, and spent the night.
The next morning, we entered the cave. Walking for a few hours with no break is hard on the legs, I must say. We came to a trench, deeper than any except the Leviathan one in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. We would have had to fly across, which wasn't exciting, if I had not stepped up. Flying carefully so the others wouldn't get lost, I guided the rest of my team safely to the bottom of the cave. We made camp at the bottom, and fell asleep soon after.

Our guide finally got back, and he lead us to the cave entrance, that had been ahead of us and not behind. We made camp there, and spent the night.

Today, the group and I, ~~who's the smart one that no one ever listens to~~, has gone through some trouble.
As we were walking through the passageways, which felt like forever, I found different species of plants and fungus. Which is quite strange because how is it even alive in such a cold and dark place? So I decided to inspect them and found out that these weren't good for our lungs and we might even die if we breathe it for too long. I told the group but they ignored me, like they always do, so we continued on wards but I began to experience dizziness, spinning colors, and sleepiness. The others experienced it as well, lucky for us, I had just the thing! I cast us a protective shield around us.
Now that I got us protected, we, idiots, kept moving forward even though it was quite risky and we, fortunately, found our way out to a large, open cavern! We observed some nice rocks and gemstones, then we made camp and slept.
