[center][b][size=7]... that isn't your own![/size][/b][/center] haha, didn't see that coming didya? :p There's so much beautiful writing hidden away in dragon bios all over this site, it is hands down my favorite part of FR and stumbling over a cool concept or a well written bio is genuinely the best FR related feeling I could imagine - so here's to celebrating well written lore! Please! Show me dragons that you don't own that got you with their lore writing! For me, I only recently stumbled over @Kairo 's lair - and I love the style of lore writing; short, evocative, beautifully stylized and just so polished, the love and care and COOLNESS shines from every syllable- every bio is short and sweet and together they create such a [i]world[/i] and vibe. especially the RIFT lair tab, go check it out; [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/lair/196708/190549/1][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/744063/74406258_350.png[/img][/url] Another recent discovery for me has been a lot of @Wishtags ' lovely dragons ([url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/drs/3294960/1]this thread[/url] of theirs about naming a derg with an absolutely insanely cool concept got me hooked) - there are so many strong concepts and such a cool general vibe with the space theme running throughout, and the style and voice of the writing is fun, unique and memorable, like, check out Darwin here; [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/84914266][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/849143/84914266_350.png[/img][/url] And for me, no thread like this would be complete without mentioning the, long inactive, unfortunately, lair of @/Carmine, the storytelling is sublime and so impressive - committing to using the FR lair as a proper storytelling medium is so interesting to me, it's a full lair experience. I had to do some digging because I have a goldfish memory and forgot their name but I would have to say that @Countessoffire has some of my fav lore I've read! I love the choose your own adventure style of @HSoup’s lore. It’s such a massive endeavor, and I really can’t imagine all of the time and effort going into it. I had so much fun clicking through it to get to know each dragon’s story. The bios are short and sweet, but perfect for getting a sense of the “ecosystem” of a clan as if you were a visitor just passing through, catching snippets of each dragon's personality. @Aurelyon oh those are so good! I find narrative bios written out like that to be so interesting, they just beg you to go hop through the lair and piece the greater narrative together. Tacet'Mare especially just ... got me :') And peaked into your lair as well, damn you got some good ones as well. I am SMITTEN with the poem format of your leaf mould dragons!! The amount of your dragons that deal with contrasts is also just stunning - healers who will tear you open ([url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/84902356]x[/url]), solemn guards who bring no peace ([url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/86359482]x[/url]), undeniably alive dealers of death ([url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/87126582]x[/url]) - it's such a cool throughline and yet they're all so varied! In the end, my favorite was Oleander, it's so well written and I love love love the idea of a dragon that deals in both the end of all things, and the conservation of it, so so so touching [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/85898872][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/858989/85898872_350.png[/img][/url] (also 'withstand the circle of life' is just ... from a decay dragon!!!?? im gonna go lay down, congrats on the beautiful writing)

I don't remember who it is anymore, but there was an assassin oc bio where the author wrote a playscript involving two people discussing the assassin, one of which was unaware of how dangerous they were, and the other warned them to back down. That one really stood out to me cause I thought it was just really cool.

I'm so glad you like my poetry <3 It has been a slow process but eventually all my dragons will have a poem for their lore, I just am a slow and picky writer lol

@rapunzels !!!!!! YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that is SO COOL excuse me while I also spend a long time clicking through - already made it to the party once, but wow, the conversational style of it flows so well!! And took a peak in your own lair as well - I really like the tone of your writing, it really is breezy like the setting of it. Easy to follow and get swept up in and your dragons seem to be such characters. Petal and Melliorn are amazing and I love especially the warmth and care you can just feel come streaming from Melliorns lore - he is ugly and he's beautiful and he's amazing I did however also misclick into Peach as the first thing and I adore her, she really has the flair of your writing I like the best; it's witty and charming and just bursting with character! oh wow what an undertaking, good luck with getting them all poem'ed up!

And yeah, all too familiar with being picky - at this point I'm thiiiiis close to taking down the majority of my old lore because it just does not pass the vibe check after all these years, but also maybe I should hold out on that until ... you know ... I've dealt with the slowly growing pile of dragons who I totally have a lore idea for they just need it written out :p

And out of curiosity, do you keep like a creative corner thread of your lore or smth? I'd love to get notified somehow when you update it!
Especially your Altar den tab (I totally didn't miss that you had the majority of your dergs in the den and went to take a look now no) they're all stunning and I am nothing if not weak to a twisted religiosity/culty theme in fr lore!

[/quote] Yeah it will be a lot of writing, so far I'm just trying to take it tab by tab or sometimes new dragons will spark some motivation and I'll write them a poem. Like [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/90199760]Gwyndolin[/url] for example, she got a poem very fast. I am so picky I did in fact erase a lot of lore lol. I had a lot of dragons with full on stories in their bios but then one day I reconstructed my entire lair and deleted all the lore. I don't regret it, I like the poetry lore a lot better. And as for the thread, I've debated keeping a thread as a lore tracker, I did in the past when I wrote out stories but I erased that thread. I could probably set another up, would help me keep track of who has lore written tbf. If I do set up a thread, I will let you know ^^ I am excited to write for the Altar tab, they are definitely my favorite tab of my tabs
