After many years, they found that their colours began to change and their patterns too, the better to camoflage among the grasses and bamboo forests, and making them excellent hunters. Many windrunners are weak flyers, but they are still devoted followers of Windsinger, and they use the gusts of the Wind Plateau to speed their running across the plains and steppes. As a weak flyer who easily grew exhausted, he often had difficulty navigating a world designed for flight. Eventually he found his home with Gust in the Zephyr Steppes, where he was able to sprint and run across the prairies and grasslands, the wind at his heels. Mekhar feels he's been blessed by Windsinger, given the chance to feel the joy of flight despite his weak wings.[/size][/columns] [columns][center][size=5]Gust[/size][/center] [size=4]Gust grew up in the Windswept Plateau, but she was never interested in the Cloudsong kites. Her greatest joys are chasing the sweeping gales across the steppe, hunting creatures in the bamboo forests and plains, and rolling around in long grass. Calathea gets in arguments with Mekhar sometimes about what makes a true Windrunner, and whether you need to be a follower of Windsinger or just simply enjoy the feeling of the wind flying by. They each joined the Windrunner pack independently, but were quickly turned away by Mekhar, who believed their pale colours were a sign of bad luck. On the fringes of Windrunner territory, they met and quickly bonded, eventually becoming mates. Eventually, due to Calathea and Reflexa's efforts arguing their case, the Windrunner pack welcomed them back. The two of them spend most of their days napping, and as dusk falls they like to play and hunt and run across the grass.
