Because of their dietary requirements, they do their best to make those around them feel happy, relaxed, and loved. While the majority of bright-eyed Vampira feed off of positive emotions, there are a handful of bright-eyed Vampira that feed off the physical and/or emotional pain of another sentient being. These Vampira are inhumane, cruel, devious, and sadistic. Both varieties lack the sharp, elongated canine teeth of their brethren. These Vampira are unable to use elemental magic, but they are usually very book-smart. Pastel- These Vampira are effectively blind and rely on their sense of smell and hearing to navigate and to find a warm body to feed on. Because of this, their sense of smell and hearing is twice as good as the other Vampira variants. Faceted- When these Vampira don't have access to a fresh blood meal, they can temporairly supplment their diet by consuming insects; even if eating insects isn't a part of their breed norms. They have the highest metabolism of all Vampira and must feed constantly (every half hour or so) or risk starvation. These Vampira never stop moving and hunting for food; to do so would be a death sentence. They are very crafty and can solve problems/puzzles with extreme speed. Some can even control insects and insect-like familiars via a form of mind control. Dark sclera- Vampira with this eye type are the most powerful of their kind. They can drink both Dragon/prey/Beastclan blood and eat regular food without getting sick. Vampira with these eyes can also shape shift; changing their form into that of a dark-feathered bird, a swarm of bats, or a swarm of rodents. Some have even been rumored to take on the form of a Beastclan, infiltrating a Beastclan settlement, and demolishing the entire settlement in a night or two. These Vampira are the rarest of their kind and are the most dangerous. Swirl- Unlike their brethren who rely on stealth and strength to catch and pin their prey, these Vampira possess the natural ability to hypnotize their prey; whether it be Dragon, animal, or Beastclan. This ability is often used to get the target to be non-combative/willing during a feeding or to get the target to perform a task for the Vampira. The hypnotic effect lasts as long as the Vampira needs it to and can only be broken if the Vampira chooses to break it or if the Vampira is killed. Sunlight affects them only slightly and they can speak telepathically. Vampira with this eye type are believed to be most favored by The Mother. Innocent- These Vampira don't drink blood, but plant sap, nectar, and honey instead. Multi-gaze- These odd-eyed Vampira feed off of not blood or tree sap, but the dreams of sleeping Dragons. Also called Dream Eaters, multi-eyed Vampira enter the dreams of sleeping Dragons via realm hopping and complex magic and began to consume the target's dreams by touching elements in the target's dreamworld. If the Vampira consumes too much of the target's dream world, the target won't wake up in the morning; either dead or in a coma. They also have the ability to see into a Dragon's past or future. Glowing- These Vampira are much more gifted in magic and spell casting than their brethren (surpassed only by the Vampira with Primal eyes). They are both respected and feared in magic-using communities for their skills. These Vampira are also able to gather energy from the environment of their element and consume that instead of blood or normal foodstuffs. Sunlight doesn't affect them and they lack the sharp, elongated canine teeth of their brethren. Mortal Dragons sometimes view them as minor deities or as messengers to the gods. ~~~ ::IDEAL FAMILIARS:: Note: Long list! ::LORE::

Some lore is in Panic's biography (above)

No one knows how exactly the Plaga Magnus (Mighty Plague) came to be. Some suspect that it was crafted and released by the Plaguebringer, others think that it was the result of a common virus that mutated. Despite the unclear origin, alchemists and scientists alike can agree that this illness originated in the lands of the Plaguebringer and was then spread to other lands via infected Dragons. Panic is the first known Dragon infected and is referred to as 'The Mother' by both mortals and other Vampira.

A Dragon that has contracted the Plaga Magnus from either an infected Dragon's bite, eating from an infected carcass, or drinking from a tainted water source begins to have the following symptoms the following day:

- Upset stomach
- Nausea/vomiting
- Headache
- Chills
- Fever

Over the course of two weeks, the infected will experience the following symptoms in no particular order:

- Sunlight sensitivity
- Migranes
- Refusal of food
- Dilated pupils
- Excessive drooling
- Fatigue during the day
- Tooth/gum pain
- Vomiting after consuming normal food
- Increased craving for blood
- Increased activity at night
- Eye pain (occasional)

By the third week, the bacteria has completely altered the infected Dragon's behavior, diet, and sometimes, their physical appearance. The infected Dragon may also start to manifest unusual powers such as dream walking, telepathy, or even shape-shifting.

Vampirism can be passed down from parent(s) to hatchling(s).

::EYE TYPES::

Vampira can be of any elemental affiliation; though Plague, Earth, Shadow, Arcane, and Ice are the most common. Elemental affiliation doesn't affect the Vampira's power level, but the eye type that they possess certainly does.

Common- These Vampira are pathetically weak and have no degree of magic control. They are the most common and are strictly nocturnal due to sunlight causing them great pain. They can only feast on Dragon blood and must do so nightly. Without it, they become sick and weak. They will die if they go longer than a night without drinking Dragon blood.

Uncommon- The only difference between Vampira with this eye type and their Common-eyed brethren is that Uncommon-eyed Vampira can drink both prey and Beastclan blood along with Dragon blood and that they are slightly stronger when properly fed. They have some degree of magic control, though not much.

Rare- These Vampira are neither incredibly weak nor incredibly powerful and have a normal level of magic control. They can drink all types of blood and they aren't as sensitive to sunlight as their common and uncommon-eyed brethren, though it still causes them some degree of pain. They can go up to a week without feasting.

Unusual- These Vampira are slightly more powerful than their rare-eyed brethren. They can eat regular food, but can't survive on that alone; as they still need to drink blood to remain healthy. They have a greater degree of magic control than their rare-eyed brethren, though not as much control as their glowing-eyed and primal-eyed brethren. Sunlight only causes them minor discomfort and they can go up to a month without feasting on blood until it starts to affect them negatively.

Bright- These Vampira feed solely off of the positive emotions of mortal Dragons.

They employ the use of echolocation frequently and produce sound waves by clicking their teeth and tongue together in rapid succession. However, they are the most sensitive to sunlight; which can kill them very quickly if they don't find cover in time. These Vampira are unable to use elemental magic.

Goat- These Vampira are unusual in the fact that Dragon blood makes them horribly sick. They can only feast on the blood of prey animals or/and Beastclans. Unlike their brethren, these Vampira have the ability to turn invisible at will.

They use their talons and elongated fangs to leave gashes in the trunks of trees and woody-stemmed plants and lap up the sap that drips from them. They will also suck the juices from various fruits and will rob beehives of their honey. Sunlight doesn't affect them and they can be a pain in a garden. This type of Vampira is incredibly rare.

While they can drink blood like most of their brethren, their main source of sustenance is mana; the magical energy of living things, which they absorb via physical contact or/and by drinking blood. The intensity of their eye-glow fluctuates with their mood or state of health.

Primal- These Vampira are incredibly in tune with their element and have mastered complete control over it.

@Aislinga Hey! Just saw this thread from another post!
I have a page dedicated to dragons that could fit into this category (with the exception of the imperial and the 2 spirals)! Some of them have lore already written, others don't.
Have a nice day! :D
