Crackle is pretty good, when it's used right. I got lucky with this girl:

I think it's an amazing gene. It all depends on the color and dragon that it is on mostly. I mean, even breeding with it is risky because of color unless you keep the color range close. But to use it in effect and depending how you pair it with other genes and whatever colors you decide to use with it, could make it a gorgeous gene that many would go nuts for. It's all in how you see and use it. :)

Maize Wasp, and Lapis Bee/Crackle combo. The yellow is nice. And then I put it on a Skydancer, which for me has always carried and made a lot of genes look good in combos. :3

Starmap Orca, Facet White, and Crackle Platinum. The combo alone makes it stand out and gives it a nice mystical look. Even better it's on an Imperial that really shows off the look well. I love imperials due to the real life lore always around them.

Some may still not like Crackle as a gene, but if you pair it right, it can look majestic, and even quite beautiful. I was never really a fan of Crackle myself either, but I've seen how gorgeous it can look when paired correctly with the right gene and mix of colors. ^u^
My only point here is, even if you don't like it, keep an open mind that while it may look bad on some it can also look good on others if used and paired well. I do agree Crackle is horrible on some dragons and even harder to pair on others. I would never use it on a Fae myself as it would look absolutely cluttered, and that wouldn't be fun for me considering I'm a Fae only clan lol. Even more so Crackle can be great on some dergs, especially with some combos of clothes even as well. :3
