@Silverskeejee ((I need to practice writing as well, yo! Humor me for a bit.))
A hulking Ridgeback sits down outside your clan's den. Obviously he can't fit in there, but he's big enough and bright enough that he's hard to miss. He's about as loud as his colours are, too - the sort of guy who if he had voice recognition for naming his clanmates, would wind up naming the other dragons in all-caps. Every time he so much as moves, the ground seems to tremble, and so much as a flick of his wings causes at least one of his much smaller Spiral friends to swoon uncontrollably.
How did this odd group get to your lair with the majority conscious? There's no way to know, but then again, you're not the one asking questions. The Ridgeback is, and he seems to be in a hurry. He shifts his weight frequently, apparently oblivious to the effect it's having on his companions (who look to be attempting to blindfold themselves with each others' tails - maybe that's how they survived the trip). And as soon as he catches sight of any of your clan members - regardless of whether it's a turned back, a tail-tip, or a head, he immediately starts shouting.
...No, not shouting, because that would imply he was putting effort into being loud. There's no strain in his voice, it's just loud. Loud, gruff, and awfully manly, given that it's coming out of the mouth of a bright pink dragon.
"MY MIGHTY MAN-CLAN SEEKS ONLY THE MANLIEST OF MANS. HOWEVER, ALTHOUGH WE ARE PLENTIFUL IN MAN-NOODLES, WILDMANS, BROCTURNES, BROATLS, AND EVEN HAVE SEVERAL MIGHTY MEN WITH MANSTACHES METRES LONG" - and here, some angry muttering from his com(p)anions, something about how 'Sue must be the only one', but it's ignored - "WE ARE LACKING IN FIESTY FAEMANS."
He finally takes a breath. How can he even talk for so long? It's beyond most dragons, but again, it's not your clan asking the questions here. Again, it ought to be the Ridgeback, but... is he even asking a question? He just seems to be saying a lot of things, rather loudly. "I, MANLY MCBRO, AM SEEKING FIESTY FAEMANS. BUT MY SCRY-ER TELLS ME THAT EVEN MANLY MANGENTA, THE COLOUR OF TRUE MEN, DOES CAST EVEN THE FIESTIEST OF FAES IN A SUITABRUH SONLY LIGHT."
He brings his head dangerously close to the mouth of your lair. Apparently, this bit is important enough for him to risk getting bitten on that great long schnozz of his. "I HEAR THAT YOUR CLAN IS KNOWLEGEABLE IN ALL THINGS FAESOME. I DEMAND A TRUE AND BRONEST MANSWER TO THIS. CAN FAES BE AS BROGON AS EVEN MANLY MCBRO MANSELF?"
((Translation: I have no Faes beyond two fandom dragons, who don't count for lore purposes, and a few others who also don't count because they'll be scrolled into something else as soon as I have the funds. I really love the Fae design, the lore seems interesting, and I really want at least a permanent Fae pair in the clan - but they just never seem to look as bright as my million Spirals and Coatls!
So, what colours and genes look the brightest and most eye-searing on Faes? Are there any genes that would make masculine mangenta look especially good?
I'd especially like to see designs with a lack or Irishim, as I have a lot of that already. One or the other's fine - just not both!))
