Happy new years all! I'm starting off the new year with a brand new job (previous one was super bad). Orientation is on the 7th and I'm super excite. Plans for the year include attempting to wrote a short story once every two weeks, improve myself, and and hopefully get my dang misdreavus fandragon (its been two long years of slowly narrowing the colour gap between parents).
Nothing really new on the dragon end. I'm debating if I wanna hatch one of my egg for new years, or save up for my 24 egg mass hatch on June 8th. Hmmm.

See? That's a Mesquite tree and a cactus, so yep - January 1st hit us with white! My spouse, Fireweasel of Lightning and I went out early while everything was still blue and took pictures.
This year I expect to do some editing for a friend, learn how to make skins/accents and clean out the house. I'm not sure where my own writing will go.
We sadly gave away our Miniature horses (several reasons but mostly it was time) and two of them became Christmas presents for some little girls. The others are becoming 4H projects and the fifth went to a friend of our farrier. Wonderful homes.
As far as dragons go, hopefully we will get that hibernal expansion soon so I can write more lore and continue collecting art as well as making mandalas. Here's one from December.

So... any suggestions on a free art program that works for skins? It seems Krita, where I do the mandalas, doesn't work with the dragon files.

skincent tutorial gives a few suggestions. I know GIMP is free and open source. I've heard its functionality is pretty close to Photoshop's. Haven't used it much, so I don't know about the learning curve. Open-source programs seem to have a reputation for...less than ideal interfaces? Other programs on that list might have free versions. An acquaintance who doesn't play FR has used FireAlpaca. A lot of people use SAI.

I'm a little late to the game, but Happy New Year everyone! For me, I'm hoping I have a lot better of a writing year since I kinda slacked off on it in 2018. Although so far I haven't had much success since I've been feeling super unmotivated recently to do literally anything. I'm hoping the slump doesn't continue and I don't live out another 2018.
And on a kinda unrelated note, I still can't believe it's 2019. It kinda just snuck up on me, whereas 2018 felt completely normal.

I am the one formally known as Karika, and boy has it been a long time since I caught up with all of you!
Last year I fell off the wagon a bit, though I did manage to get some done and even won NaNoWriMo again. I was quite a bit of a hermit, unwilling to socialise or even leave the house for the most of it!
This year I'm determined to make my year for writing.
I have a lore thread underway, which I believe is going rather well so far -- If anyone would like my nomads to encounter your clan at some point, please speak up!
(I restarted my lair and now have a total of four perma dragons. It's a big change!)
What's more, I started my very own patreon. For the most part I'm muddling through that, not entirely sure how it all works, but so far I have a couple of friends who have pledged to me and I'm determined to live up to my end of it!
First thing this year I have dived into an old angels and demon's NaNo story I did, and I'm currently world building with the plans to give it a complete overhaul and work towards it being my very first published novel.
I'm making writing my full time job this year (made easier with the fact that I've had to reduce my internet to a mere 10GB a month), but I've also started dabbling in art! For a short while at the end of last year I had access to a drawing tablet and did some digital arts of my OCs (they can be found on my instagram). I don't have it anymore, but that's not going to stop me - I'm working on my traditional art skills and am determined to get better.
From what I've read so far here you've all also been very busy. I'm impressed! I hope to hear more of your writing adventures throughout 2019, and will do my best to check in regularly~
