Sometimes, couriers need to transport their cargo quickly. Often, it's to places far away, and the client wants it delivered at a ridiculously small time frame. So, to combat this problem, messengers have started wearing this trinket.
These charms are blessed by the wind, and alter the currents around the wearer to give them swift travel through the sky. Since these talismans draw from the wearer's reserves of energy to fuel this magic, it is advised not to use them too much in one day, or they will find themselves much too exhausted to complete any deliveries.[/columns]
Procedure
The first order of business is to take the needed ingredients and find a place very high up in the Reedcleft Ascent. The higher up, the better. This is where you will perform the procedure.
Collect a variety of herbs that are native to the area. Flatten them into the pages of a book, and wait until they have dried. This may take a few weeks, so it's best to prepare them in advance.
Light three-to-four ancestral incense, and line them in a circle around your place of work. Wait until you can smell their aroma, and then it's time to begin. Open a locket and set it down by the incense. Bind a small bundle of the dried herbs and a couple zephyr sparrow feathers together and place them inside.
Whisper the first half of the words inscribed on the following page over the trinket. You will feel a tingling sensation on the edges of your wings and fingers. Close the locket with all the materials inside, close your eyes and finish the incantation. When you open them, the elemental symbol for wind should appear on the metal, and sear itself onto the locket. Tie a couple more wing feathers to it and hang it around your neck, and the charm will be good to go. (Make sure to take a test flight to confirm that it works, of course!)

Any dragon planning to make a Spirit's Trap: Messenger mus be prepared for a long and tedious process. This process includes making a suitable bamboo frame or skeleton allowing for a mull range of movement yet being light enough for flight. This skeleton must be carefully engraved with the required runes of binding. These runes cannot be too deep as the bamboo may split, making that specific piece of the frame useless. The spirit must then be bound to the frame which is then covered in a light weight fabric and covered in feathers.
Runes should be inscribed into the covering, these should allow the Messenger to grow wings and various grasping limbs to allow them to carry out their task. A suitable carrying case should then be bound to the form of the spirit to allow them to carry messages from one place to another.

Augite Protectors have been long-used by Earth clans for guarding dens, treasure stashes, and other areas of interest for many years. Though these golems do require maintenance(every 3-4 months recommended), they are fierce protectors and loyal to their masters. They're surprisingly fast, and pretty resistant to elemental attacks.[/columns]
Procedure
Augite Protectors are powered by a core, contained inside their rocky exterior. This core is tedious to create, but it can be done.
The most important ingredients for this are sacridite shards, and an earth runestone. Nature runestones can be a viable substitute if the earthen variety is unavailable. One must find a dark safe place, preferably near where one sleeps, and circle a runestone with the shards. For the next month, one must keep in their thoughts the wish for a core. Sacridite crystals are unique in that they grow based on one's wishes; in this case, the shards should grow around the runestone to form a crystalline sphere.
While the sacridite crystals are growing, carve the parts for the golem out of augite stone depicted on the second page. They should all be separate, and include its head, two halves for the body, and legs(other parts can also be made, like tails, ears, and spikes to customize the golem). Paint the depicted markings on each part.
Once the carved augite pieces are finished, and the sacridite has formed a small orb, place the core in a space between the two halves of the body. Bind them together with magic(you may need an Earth mage's help for this part). Lay the rest of the augite pieces around the golem, and, after a few minutes, the magic inside the core will activate, and the golem will assemble itself. Now, the golem will be ready to take orders from its creator to do their bidding.

[item=Charged Duneberry]
[nextcol][item=white slime]
[item=stardust sap lamp]
[item=traveler's runestone][nextcol]Information
Traveler's Portal bombs are extremely useful for dragons who wish to travel between two locations in seconds. They are highly sought after due to this fact as well as the rarity of the Charged Duneberry and Traveler's Runestones. Most portal bombs are encased in glass orbs for convenience but it is not unheard of for them to come in odd-shaped glass containers. These bombs are only able to be used once, as activating one requires breaking the glass orb. The only exception to this is the Traveler's Runestone. Once the portal dissipates, one can reuse the runestone that is left behind in the ice-colored liquid. As far as has been researched, the runestones may be used an infinite amount of times for a Traveler's Portal Bomb.
In order to create the portal, one must channel their breath onto the glass and visualize their destination before throwing it. This will not work if the thrower does not have a specific place in mind; the portal will simply not form. Once the glass orb is thrown onto the ground and broken, the remains of the orb will emit a grey wisp that produces an image of the desired location for creatures to cross over to.
How long each portal will last depends entirely on the charge of the Charged Duneberry. For example, if it has been a full day since it was charged by a storm and heated with the other ingredients in the orb, the portal will last for 2 hours. (See list below for recorded samples of portal lifespans.)[/columns]
WARNING:

Ingredients and materials needed:
- Glass
- Mortar and Pestle
- Stardust Sap Lamp
- 1x Medium-Sized Beaker of White Slime
- 5x Wisp Fruit
- 2x Charged Duneberry
- 1x Traveler's runestone
Instructions:
1. Create two hollow semi-spheres of glass. The larger the semi-spheres, the larger the portal will be.
2. Crush the Charged Duneberries with the mortar and pestle until the berries have become liquid. Beware of stray bolts of electricity that recently-charged Duneberries produce while being crushed. Afterward, pour the liquid into one of the semi-spheres.
3. Take half of the white slime and pour it into the semi-sphere containing the Duneberry juice. Carefully place the Traveler's Runestone on top of the slime in the very middle, making sure that the runestone does not touch the Charged Duneberry liquid.
4. Crush the Wisp Fruits with the mortar and pestle (NOTE: must be cleaned thoroughly) until it becomes a liquid and pour it into the other empty semi-sphere of glass.
5. Take the other half of the white slime and place it on top of the Wisp Fruit juice. Once placed, quickly flip over the semi-sphere with the Wisp Fruit juice and place it on top of the semi-sphere with the Charged Duneberry juice.
6. Seal the glass spheres together.
7. Adjust the flame of the Stardust Sap lamp and set it to the largest flame before one can visibly see smoke. Position the orb in the flame and let it heat up for 10 minutes. When ready, the ingredients inside the orb will crystallize, one half of the orb turning pink and the other turning cyan.

Less potent Variant[/columns]
Requirements: 15x High-Voltage Almonds
Replaces: Charged Duneberries
Using this variant recipe, the portal created will only last for 1 minute. Usage of more High-Voltage Almonds will result in an inconsistent solution and the portal will fail to form. This variant is used for travelers wishing to make a quick jump without having to use overly rare resources. Due to its higher supply and lower prices compared to the original, it has a much higher popularity on the market.
The same procedure follows but when heating the orb up with the Stardust Sap lamp, the side containing the crushed almonds must face the flame.
Requirements: 1x Unhatched Lightning Egg, Deeprealm Runestone

This will create a portal that is permanent when the orb is broken.
In this variant, a quarter of the white slime is to be placed in the semi-sphere before the egg while the other quarter is placed on top of the egg. Information
(See list below for recorded samples of portal lifespans.)
WARNING:
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO POSITION ONESELF BETWEEN TWO LOCATIONS
FOR MORE THAN 5 SECONDS.
High-Voltage Almonds
Plant
It just seems like a really bad idea to try and eat these, but don't let common sense stop you.
Unhatched Lightning Egg
Dragon Eggs
A super-charged glassy egg with a flashing baby dragon inside. The egg is hard to look at for long periods of time, but quite the conversation topic.
0
Deeprealm Runestone
Trinkets
It is not known who created these runestones and grew the massive hunters that carry them.
This will create a portal that is permanent when the orb is broken.
In this variant, a quarter of the white slime is to be placed in the semi-sphere before the egg while the other quarter is placed on top of the egg. In addition to the Traveler's Runestone, one must also place a Deeprealm Runestone in the orb. Furthermore, the side of the orb containing the egg must face the flame when heated. The same procedure follows for the rest.
ILLEGAL. DO NOT ATTEMPT SUCH A PROCEDURE.
