Ever wondered how the gardener's of the Viridian Labrynth grow such splendid crops? Well, it's all thanks to a secret recipe for mulch. And now, it's available to the public!
Many generations of Nature dragons have honed this recipe, until today. It's the perfect combination of special plant matter, all of which stimulates productive growth of one's garden.[/columns]
[font=times new roman][b]Procedure[/b]
The making of this mulch is much simpler than one would think. First, the ingredients must be gathered.
Three parts maple leaves, to two parts dried spiral aloe leaves, to two parts jungle raincatch vines. Shred them all together into little tiny bits.
Next, gather an amount of shred cedar bark of the same quantity as all the plants beforehand altogether. Mix them thoroughly.
Wrap the mixture in witch's cobwebs. They will imbue the mulch with special energies that will help stimulate growth in plants it is used upon. Supplies of these can be easily bought from willing witches([i]never[/i] steal them, or a curse will fall upon your crops instead of a blessing).
Leave them wrapped up for a couple hours, and then unwrap and apply to your gardens!

The kraken is a legendary creature mentioned only in hushed voices, capable of devastating entire civilizations. It slumbers now, but can be summoned by means of a forgotten ritual deemed highly taboo by most kingdoms, requiring blood sacrifice and several difficult-to-obtain ingredients. However, there are several cults dedicated to raising the kraken from its slumber and unleashing its power upon this world.
The ritual necessary to summon the Kraken has been long shrouded in myth, and over several centuries has been scattered in pieces among many hidden locations throughout Sornieth’s bodies of water. Occasionally a sentence or two of the ritual’s instructions are discovered in the form of ancient engravings by deranged spellcasters and kraken cults. Mercifully, not much can be accomplished with an incomplete ritual, and this alone is the only thing stopping the kraken from being loosed onto Sornieth.
The ritual requires several obscure, difficult-to-obtain ingredients that can only be obtained from a specific area and are sometimes even one of a kind. The information on the ritual itself is hidden throughout Sornieth, occasionally guarded by ancient creatures tasked to defend the knowledge from falling in to the wrong hands.[/columns]
[font=times new roman]The only information on summoning the kraken recovered is a list in an ancient script listing a few of the components required for the ritual. They are as followed:

There is a common myth of nature-flighted dragons possessing an inherent ability to talk to plants. Though they are often skilled with flora, this simply isn't true without magic's aid. Additionally, not all have to be born with such magic - out of the many different ways to communicate with plants, this perhaps is the most... literal. Not any other magical item has been documented that has such strange humor towards the matter of speaking to the world.
With an enchanted Vinespeaker Flute, you have the ability to literally talk to plants - though, we discovered that by making the inner soul of vegetation into words, plants aren't a large fan of dragons, despite being watered and cared for by them. They take a particular hatred to those of the plague flight.
The most recent document of the Vinespeaker Flute being used is the following;
[Dragon, Baila, Female, Pearlcatcher, Nature Flight] [Blows into flute a soft, humming tune that can be deciphered as a 'Hello'. Baila hands her flute off to the plant, which reaches up with a long moss-dotted tendril of leaves, and grasps the item in a prehensile cluster of greenery.]
[Plant, Morris Ivy, Currently growing on a tree in the Gladekeeper's greenhouse.] [Hums into the flute with a soft bee-like buzzing, though it comes out of the other end as a 'What do you want'.]
[Baila, with flute] 'What is your name?'
[Morris Ivy] 'Marquis Francis Jenkins the third.'
[Baila] 'From where do you fare?'
[Morris Ivy] 'Um, from this tree. Are you blind?'
[Baila] 'Certainly not, my apologies. How is the sun for you today? It shines rather bright upon us.'
[Morris Ivy] 'It tastes... um, fine, today.'
[Baila] 'Pity. I hope I can get you something better to dine on?'
[Morris Ivy] 'I literally can't eat anything but sunlight.'
[Baila] 'Well, what does the sun normally taste like?'
[Morris Ivy] 'I wouldn't know. I have nothing to compare it to. I can only eat sunlight.'
[Baila] 'Ah, well. Such a bland life.'
[Morris Ivy] 'Not really. You all seem a whole lot more boring. I'm having a jolly old time on this tree.'
[Baila] 'Truly?'
[Morris Ivy] 'No. Life sucks.'[/columns]
[font=times new roman]1. Gather up as many plants as possible. The more common, the better, as these plants will be the easiest to communicate with. Place all plant findings safely in a glass container until further notice.
2. Locate your brooch. Common rumor of whisper-like sounds emanating from Seeker eyes is not fantasy, and Seekers carry speech-related magic in these eyes. The brooch holds the purest version of this magic alone, and will be the easiest to use.
3. Crush the brooch and release the eye into a stone pot - ensure this pot doesn't consist of anything artificial besides stone or moss. It is very important to have as much of the natural world present as possible. Cut the eye open, and discard of the remains. Leave only the lens. The lens, as we have found, is the object that can be heard whispering the loudest and is believed to be the heart of the eye's magic. Ensure the bowl is closed fully except for a single open for your utensil, and then proceed to entirely crush the lens. Allow your bowl to sit for an hour so the magic can spread itself throughout it.
4. Tear, pound, stir, and add fresh water to the plants as much as possible until you recieve a fine paste. This paste can be combined with the lens in the bowl once the utensil is removed. Stir until you can no longer see lens shards. This will draw any spirits or enchantments within the lens to the paste.
5. Finally, pour the paste into the engraving of the nature runestone as though it was a mold. Also like a mold, you can cook your engraving of paste over a small fire for approximately four hours. The paste will solidify, and the magic-filled lens shards, needing 'energy' as all Seeker eyes do, will draw its magic directly from the runestone. This results in a nature-influenced seeker lens, combining the speech magic with the flora one. The extra influence of the plant paste is enough to push the speech magic directly and strictly to plant matter.
6. Remove your solidified nature paste-mold, add jewelry or other furnishings to make it into a charm, and hang it on any wooden [REQUIRED to be made of PURE TREE WOOD] flute, and your enchantment will linger with your instrument. Using this, you can take advantage of the lens's magic and begin speech with plants.

Life sucks.'
Back to the Index
