@AccursedAsche @Arionn I'm worried I might have too strong brushwork as well...can we verify it somehow or is it a thing that is just estimated by ourselves and fellow members?

Urgh. I wanna do this so bad. All the other entries are so good tho, and I can't think of anything to do for any of them. ;_;

Both of yours seems like they have strong brush work.

Meaning overly detailed. Remember the image will be shrunken down and the staff will shade these, and too much detail makes it look to cluttered.

For help, I would go and look at familiars already on the site.

There are so many beautiful Perytons so far! I'm struggling to pick a favourite; I'd love to have one of each to be honest. I'm thinking I miiight need to simplify the colouring a little on my entry, it seems a little too...smudgy? Overworked..? Thoughts? I don't know haha, this is my first time entering something like this, I'm so flustered... :') My entry: [img]http://orig10.deviantart.net/1b6a/f/2015/331/7/0/dwarf_hainu_contest_sml_by_linzalvador-d9i7c2a.png[/img] Because there were no cockatiel-puppies that I could see and I felt that should be remedied!~

@AccursedAsche I know that you're right and it pains me because I spend several hours figuring out how to make the brown zaggy feathers...I think I'll need to adjust my creation by the end of the contest or change it all together. Thank you.

@Kogosama I never used that program, I used Photoshop for mine. I was going to say try using tha lasso tool to select and area and then use the Gradient tool to do a blending color change.
