We awake to see a word we barely know, eyes barely open, limbs barely controlled, memories lost or, perhaps, they never were there to begin with. A rebirth, maybe just a birth, but a life begins nonetheless. Meteor after meteor his the ground, nearly crashing into others it had fallen alongside. More chaos, like the dream, as dragons large and small dodge the flaming rocks pelting the terrain from space. Am important event for many, a sign from their god, comets carrying prophecies or perhaps prophets, but the meteor is the most important to Them. The little beasts crawl out of the cracked meteors, forms different from what they'd seen on Sornieth before. An Aether there, another climbing from that rock, a Sandsurge over there? But there's something off about them, something wrong. Some have large appendages on their heads, others swirling glyphs and golden magics with hooves instead of claws on their back feet. Another with far too many feathery wings and paws like a Hainu. A fourth with gnarly teeth and swirling eyes bites at anyone who comes near. This, alongside the meteor shower they arrived during, is what earned them their name. Many absorbed the arcane energies of the location as well as the frozen magic from nearby, a popular theory researchers believe is that these elemental magics are the source of their magical, swirling, and colorful glyphs. A high concentration come from Sunbeam Ruins and the Shifting Expanse as well, the light and thunder energies tend to give these variants there golden and electric blue hues. There have been no Starfall aliens located with dark glyphs or swirls. The Starfall variants are far more likely to wield the magic they obtained through the atmosphere, from the location their eggs were laid, or from their parents. They have been noted to be incredibly intelligent and very keen on learning more about Sornieth and are most likely to be scholars. They are not very skilled in fighting nor are they known to be very strong, however they can wield elemental magic with ease. These do not have to match their born element/eye color. The creatures were named Medusa's after the large, strange appendage growing from their skulls, though it is much more akin to the tail of a scorpion than the head of a snake. Many of them landed on the edges of the Starfall Isles alongside the Starfalls, but even more landed in Dragonhome, the Scarred Wasteland, and the Tangled Wood. Their appendages have been seen in any and all colors, often times they have had some connection the magic that they absorbed on the journey down, but not much. Built larger and tougher than the other Alien variants, these creatures are much more skilled at claw to claw combat and usually have less skill wielding magic. Most have no interest in learning more about their new home but rather prefer to find and settle somewhere to live out their new lives. Their antlers are a tad sharper but smooth.[/size][/right][/columns] [font=book antiqua][size=4][color=#471E5D]To be classified as a Medusa, the Aether must have the Space gene in any color.[/size] [rule] [font=book antiqua][size=4][color=#471E5D][b]Seraphim[/b] [columns][font=book antiqua][size=4][color=#471E5D]The names of these creatures was granted to them due to their multiple feathered wings all over their bodies. The population that first landed here on Sornieth was rather small but grew larger as they journeyed around the world and mingled with natives or Sornieth or others of their kind. Most had made touch down in the Windswept Plateau, a small selection landing in other locations on the map. The Seraphim are commonly peaceful and nomadic. Most only desire to travel their new world, to see everything there is to see. They're incredibly curious, word of mouth is never good enough for them if they don't get to see it themselves. Their wings are feathered rather than their usual moth like appearance and smaller wings are placed all over their bodies. It wasn't often that an Alien emerging from its rocky shell bore the jagged, sharp teeth of this subset of their kind, but when they saw them arise they would flee their own landing zones. The natives, however, hadn't an idea of what was to come. Quickly the small beasts started biting and lashing out, gripping arms and flesh in violent, sharp teeth. Despite their small size they were relatively difficult to fend off. Given there was only a small amount of the creatures, they didn't have any particular location they were relatively common in. A few of them were able to be calmed with slabs of meat and, with some assistance, integrated into normal dragon societies. Carnivores sport an extra small set of arms and sharp, jagged teeth with their antlers being sharp and angular as well. While they too are imbued with magical energies they have shown no use, interest, or knowledge of the elements, instead opting to rip and tear their enemies to shreds with their monstrous teeth. They are the only aliens who solely eat meat, and many stay the size of a hatchling their entire lives.[/right][/columns] [center][font=book antiqua][size=4][color=#471E5D]Carnivores require the carnivore gene to be registered, and currently must be Aethers. Permababies are [u]not[/u] required, but encouraged![/center] [rule] [font=book antiqua][size=5][color=#471E5D][b]Sandsurges[/b][/color][/size][/font] [font=book antiqua][size=4][color=#471E5D][b]Starfalls[/b] [columns][font=book antiqua][size=4][color=#471E5D]Just as the Aether Starfalls have a deeper connection to their elements, the same can be said of their Sandsurge variant. While their cousins prefer to solely use magic, these Starfalls use not only their physical strength in fights but most embed their element into each and every attack with tooth and claw. Their magical abilities aren't quite as enhanced as their counterpart but they make up for that in the form of a much more balanced skillset. These aliens landed all across Sornieth but a large population found their places in the Shifting Expanse. They prefer to go their own way with little interest in studying and academics. The new world is interesting to them, sure, but seeing it in passing is plenty enough for them. Being slashed by one often leaves deep throbbing cuts, and they are often strategically aiming their blows to kill. While they aren't bloodthirsty like Carnivores, the Insectoids are constantly on guard and distrusting, often thinking there are ulterior motives behind others actions and words. Those without Primal eyes have little to no connection to their element, the only effect on them commonly being their eye color. Many of the Insectoids landed in the Windswept Plateau, the Viridian Labyrinth, and the Tangled Wood. They quickly fled into hiding and weren't discovered until some time after the first Aliens of other kinds. [/right][/columns] [center][font=book antiqua][size=4][color=#471E5D]Insectoids require the chitin gene to be registered.[/center] [rule] [font=book antiqua][size=5][color=#471E5D][b]Other Important Aspects[/b][/color][/size] [font=book antiqua][size=4][color=#471E5D]Some eye types and elemental magics have different effects on the Aliens. These elemental changes do not apply only to those who came during the the meteor shower, but also to those born to any element, but they do not have to apply to every one. Primal eyes have different affects, however, and all primal eyed aliens experience these affects. Some of these changes are Sub-subspecies specific. [font=book antiqua][size=4][color=#471E5D][b]Elemental Effects and Primals[/b][/size] [size=3] [b][u]Arcane[/u][/b] Arcane Aliens are most commonly Starfalls as it is a popular place for the scholars of their kind to gather for meetings and gatherings to discuss and perform research. Arcane Medusas, Seraphim, and even Carnivores have been shown to have a higher affinity for magic and elemental wielding than their other elemental peers. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: Aliens sporting Primal Arcane eyes have a connection to their original home world never seen before. Those who arrived on Sornieth already adorned with the eyes were able to slowly remember bits and pieces of their past lives, those born on Sornieth are occasionally overcome with the memories of their ancestors who had arrived here before them. [b][u]Earth[/u][/b] Aliens of the Earth element are oftentimes physically stronger and more disconnected from their elemental magic. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: Contrary to others of their element, Ancient Aliens with the primal of the Earthshaker are incredibly in tune with their elemental abilities. They are able to move and manipulate boulders and stone to their will. They will often pull slabs of rock from the ground to create houses and villages. [b][u]Fire[/u][/b] Heat is no match for an Alien touched by the fire of the Flamecaller. These creatures are not immune to burns and heat related illness, however they can spend hours within scorching heat without sustaining burns. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: Able to walk through fire and control flame with their minds, these ambitious dragons are able to go places no others can. Able to withstand the heat of the Ashfall Wastes lava, some theorize they could live in the sun. In fact, its their goal. Getting there will be a bit difficult, though. [b][u]Ice[/u][/b] The cold is of no bother to these elementals, braving sub zero temperatures is simple for them. Though they have a resistance to freezing temperatures they are not immune to them. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: Immune to the cold these aliens are able to be frozen and preserved in life for years on end. Alongside this, they are able to withstand the temperature out in space. [b][u]Light[/u][/b] These creatures show signs of heightened intelligence, empathy, and senses of justice when of the light flight. They are often good judges of character. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: Dragons with the shining eyes of the Lightbringer are not only excellent judges of character but are able to 'see the color of ones soul.' Interpretations of these colors varies between those who hold this ability and these metrics are often kept close to the chest. What we do know is that the 'soul' has a base color in line with their element, and this color changes based on good or bad deeds. [b][u]Lightning[/u][/b] Lightning Flight Aliens are able to feel the electricity of a storm long before it rolls overhead, smell the scent of the rain before it begins to fall. Their extreme senses make them incredibly at detecting changes in the weather. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: The chosen of the Stormchaser are gifted with powers outside of their control. With their rage comes the rage of the Lightning deity, and an angered primal makes for a raging storm of thunder, lightning, wind, and rain outside of their own control. [b][u]Nature[/u][/b] Members of the species laced with the element of the Gladekeeper are often times lovers of plants and wildlife and are naturally calmer, even Carnivores. Nature Aliens will often live in groups of others just like themselves, often head by a Primal of the same element. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: Primal eyed Nature Aliens see the world differently than anyone on Sornieth. They are naturally incredibly calm, as the world they see, full of alien plants and fauna, is perhaps a direct vision of their own home they left behind while at the same time being an accurate display of what is going on in their own world. To them, plants are given new appearances that do not match the descriptions from their disciples. In fact, nothing truly does. [b][u]Plague[/u][/b] Aliens imbued with the Plague element have an affinity for violence. Starfalls, Seraphim, Medusas, and Carnivores alike are all much more aggressive when filled with the element of the Plaguebringer. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: Plague primals have disease and rot coursing through their veins. Most dangerous in Carnivores, their saliva and bodily fluids contain copious amounts of disease and illness, one bite is enough to kill a full grown dragon by sudden onslaught of multiple sicknesses. Alongside this they are nearly zombies, mindless with no empathy or sympathy. [b][u]Shadow[/u][/b] Members of the Shadow flight are often times quieter and softspoken, preferring to travel alone than with others. Their most comfortable place is the shadows in which they can hide. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: The dripping eyes of the Shadow flight are synonymous with a shapeshifter or skinwalker. Some use these abilities to blend in and remain unseen and unnoticed, others use it to track down, trick, hunt, and kill prey. [b][u]Water[/u][/b] The sea is a home to few Aliens, but those who landed there often times rarely emerge from their deep abyssal groups formed below the sea. Those with the Water element are able to wield their element well and breath underwater like any fish. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: Similarly to the Nature elementals, the Primal eyed Water Alien see's the world through a new lens. The waters color shifts, the life of the ocean is strange, but comforting. While those without the blessed sight see a world not their own, those with it see the oceans of their origins. [b][u]Wind[/u][/b] Most Wind Aliens tend to be Seraphim, though the element has spread to all of the varying sub-subspecies. Wind elements are often times itching to travel and see the world with a special love for flying. They are often fast and agile, alongside the physical or magical abilities their kind are known for. [emoji=special eyes size=1] [i]Primals[/i]: The eyes of the Wind Primal are telling of a Starfall, Seraphim, or Medusa with photographic memories. Able to remember and recall every location they've ever seen in vivid detail these dragons make excellent storytellers, artists, and cartographers. They are also incredibly intelligent. Carnivores, on the other hand, gain an exceptional skill in the manipulation of the air and the wind, able to steal the air out of ones lungs to cause suffocation. [rule] [font=book antiqua][size=4][color=#471E5D][b]Other Eye Types[/b][/size] [size=4][color=#471E5D] [b][u]Swirl[/u][/b]: The swirling eyes on Aliens often mean the dragon is more prone to violence. Carnivores with the hypnotic gaze have an insatiable hunger and are unable to be reasoned with or calmed. [b][u]Multi-Gaze[/u][/b]: Those with multiple eyes are often times incredibly on edge and observant, with a strong sense of justice. They'll take anything into their own hands if it means a bad dragon is taken down. [b][u]Goat[/u][/b]: These horizontal pupils are a sign of a playful, friendly alien with a rather odd ability. They'll eat pretty much anything! Rocks, leaves, meat, plastic, as long as it isn't sharp or hot its fair game, and they'll be fine! [b][u]Innocent[/u][/b]: Dragons sporting these kind eyes are often times mischievous, deceitful tricksters. [b][u]Glowing[/u][/b]: Often called false prophets, these dragons have lesser, weaker versions of the Primals powers and abilities. [b][u]Faded[/u][/b]: These dragons elemental abilities are weakened, their connection with their element fading. [b][u]Faceted[/u][/b]: Seraphim, Medusas, and Starfalls with these eyes have been shown to have a hive-mind mentality, able to communicate others with the same visage. Carnivores, on the other hand, have their beast like instincts heightened, making them very finnicky. [b][u]Pastel[/u][/b]: Those with faded eyes have visions and memories of their ancestors, of their lives here on Sornieth and their old home planet. They are fleeting, though, and they're too slippery to ever put words to or remember for long. [b][u]Bright[/u][/b]: Bright eyes are indicative of an Alien that is incredibly in tune with their inborn element. [b][u]Dark[/u][/b]: Those of the species with dark eyes tend to have an inclination towards darker, taboo magic, and any of the shadow and plague flight have heightened magical abilities.
