Background on the Krelltenne species:

Semi-Aquatic Vel'marrich VS. Land-based Denev'matarn
Compatible Species:

A very long time ago there was one species on the planet Algranar'is That species was a cold-blooded reptilian species known as the "Krelltenne"
After advancements were made, two distinct groups became at odds with one another, they started a worldwide war that lasted thousands of years and drove the two groups apart. Eventually, the isolation between both groups created a massive evolutionary divide between them. This resulted in the Krelltenne dividing into two sub-species, that later came together as allies and friends. Now the Krelltenne explore space and learn together.

Both species are shapeshifters, and many have been known to survive long cold winter seasons by shapeshifting into something warm-blooded. They can shapeshift into anything they can see, but maintaining the form is a skill that requires constant focus. Young Krelltenne often have difficulty maintaining their form for more than a few hours, while some well trained can maintain their form for weeks, or months, even during sleep or stress, when it is most difficult. The closer the form they want to take is to their original shape, the less difficult it is to manage. Many Krelltenne will use shapeshifting to change very small parts of themselves, to appear more appealing to themselves or others. These small changes tend to be much easier to maintain than full transformations.

Krelltenne government is split into two groups that work closely together to determine decisions to their world and peoples. The Denev'matarn and the Vel'marrich are the two governing bodies, with several representatives from each group. There are also sub-groups that communicate closely with the main government, such as civil services, expansion efforts, and the war department. Though, Krelltenne usually prefer diplomatic solutions, they have a highly advanced and trained fleet ready to fight if needed.

The Vel'marrich: are the aquatic subspecies of the Krelltenne. They tend to have mutations like fins stretched across their spines, and are generally more slender in build than the Vel'marrich. They swim faster, and can remain underwater for several hours before needing to return for air. This makes them fantastic at exploring underwater areas, or building structures in the ocean. The Vel'marrich are often more reserved than other Krelltenne, and tend to keep to themselves, or in smaller groups. They are quiet, and thoughtful, often considered very intelligent, but not the most social or friendly. Despite this, they are highly respected for their inventiveness, and strategy.

The Denev'matarn: are the land-based subspecies of the Krelltenne, and are the oldest of the race. The Denev'matarn are considered to be the father of the Krelltenne, and the ones that remained on land when the wars started. They tend to be much larger, and tougher in build. They are good at physical labor, and combat. They tend to have mutations like spines and blades, as well as thicker armor plates and extra scales. They are well adapted to warmer and drier climates, and often end up not lasting long in cold weather before needing to hibernate or adapt. They are often valued for their level-headedness and their calm precision. They are also valued for their strength and reliability. Some assume they are the opposite of the Vel'marrich, and are therefore less intelligent. This is untrue, though the rumor probably stems from their confidence and ability to act quickly, without much forethought.

Crossbreeds: between these two subspecies is referred to by the generalized "Krelltenne" and sometimes by the more derogatory term, "Aberrant." These crossbreeds often display wild crosses between the two parents, such as heavily armored spikes, paired with large fins and Aberrant eyes. Crossbreeds can be a wide variety of builds, including naturally thick boned, with a thin body and tail. They have a higher rate of being strange, outcast, or even unstable, but are usually accepted as any other Krelltenne. They also tend to be the most sociable, to the point of being abnormally charismatic. They often find interest in other races, traditions, and the unknown. They are generally characterized as highly adaptable, brave and strong-willed like the Denev'matarn, but thoughtful and cunning like the Vel'marrich. They are valued in a wide variety of jobs and skillsets. The crossbreeds are also frequently much more interested in shapeshifting than the others of their species, to the point of obsession. They like to experience life from other's perspective by living in their shape for a time, and some groups create entire research studies around this. Aberrant Krelltenne were the first to discover Humanity, and to bring the knowledge of shapeshifting into them back home. This greatly helped the Cold-blooded Krelltenne in surviving on much colder planets or climates, while still remaining productive and adaptable. The Crossbreeds were also the first to discover new ways to remain in the form of another for much longer, and many taught other Krelltenne the methods. These adaptations have helped Krelltenne that learned in all forms of transformation to date. Their primary discovery was that becoming more familiar with the transformation helps you maintain it, and the best way to do that is to design your own. Though this takes considerable effort, and only the most dedicated can manage it properly. It is usually the Aberrant that decide to pursue this task.

Number of spines/horns and the density, as well as location on the body should be specified.

Fins:
A thin translucent or leathery film is stretched over existing horns. Location on the body should be specified, as well as the general shape.

Extras:
Wartscales: The scattered scales that sit on top of the main set of scales and often appear darker or significantly lighter. Warts are ones that raise above the skin forming a bump. (see example art)
Demi-twin: A second head grows in a conjoined twin, linked to the Ouroboros tail mutation. The head can be incomplete, or have it's own personality. It is exceedingly rare.

Apparel/Clothing: I am significantly worse at drawing objects, including clothing. I ask that a reference is provided, and will usually ask for extra payment. The base expectation is 10g/kt per apparel item.
Backgrounds: Backgrounds will come in a very simple single color, to a "paint splotch" for free. You can request extra effects such as weather, but Backgrounds with details will cost extra. 50g/kt for a sunset sky, 60g/kt for any other sky. 50g/kt for forests, trees, plains, and grass. 50g/kt for any bodies of water, and 60g/kt for any mountains. I will not draw props, buildings, and other "man-made" structures.

Any details you want added that are not listed or part of the form. These can increase the price, especially if a custom request is made.
NOTE: If your custom gene is accepted and drawn, it can become a new genetic that will feature you!

Discovery of New Genetics

This is the location where you will be credited for the discovery of a new gene, as we well as an example of that gene. You may credit as yourself, or ask that your new lizard be given credit, by being the first with the gene.

-Gene rarity can affect price, and is determined by me.
-Gene location determines where the mutation can happen on the body. Chosen by me, depending on what would be better to draw, as well as by the original buyer.
-Gene type is which race or crossbreed is assigned, or if it's a generalized gene.

Discoverer: WID0WM4KER
Gene type: Pupil/Eye Mutation
Gene name: Inverse
Location of Gene: Pupil
Rarity of Gene: Very rare
Example(s) of the new gene: Argent

Adoption for Existing Lizards

Adopt a lizard! Sometimes I will draw art for an existing dragon, and put it in their bio. If there are dragons listed here, and you like the art in their bio, feel free to reach out to me to rescue one!

Right now there are no Lizards looking for a home! Check back soon!

Attention all Krelltenne scientists!

Contact with this planet has accelerated genetic mutations in some Aberrant breeds. It is believed that those with the very rare "Ouroboros" mutation are potentially linked to a much more severe mutation. The new mutation is nicknamed "Demi-twin" and is thought to be caused or accelerated by the toxic atmosphere near the center of the region. The frequency of this mutation appearing in offspring has also seen a dramatic increase. Caution is advised, especially in Aberrant Krelltenne with the Ouroboros mutation already present, or in scientists currently near the affected areas.

"Ouroboros" is the pre-existing split tail genetic. This can now regularly occur at the base of the subject, instead of the previous partial tail split only.
"Demi-twin" is where a second, fully or partially formed head grows in, most often examined in Aberrant subjects with the Ouroboros genetic. In fully formed examples, the second tail appears to belong to the other head.

Event Details: To celebrate the release of the new breed, the first order of the new Demi-twin mutation can opt to become the official discoverer of that gene for no extra charge. For a short while all orders containing Demi-twin and Ouroboros genes will be allowed at no extra charge.
