tumblr_inline_nkcy6grARf1t8garv.png Every flight has an atypical manifestation of their native magic, one which gives those who possess it dangerous and monstrous powers, declared anathema, Aberrants, by the rest of their flight. Ice dragons tell stories about Wendigos on dark nights when the icy winds shriek outside their lair. These dragons have the ability to change themselves into a ghostly creature of icy wind, deadly, dangerous, and near impossible to injure, capable of shredding flesh from bone within minutes. In their dragon form, they are thin and gaunt, with sunken, dark-hollowed eyes and frost crystals on their fur that never melt even in the warmest room. They speak in hoarse voices with an undertone like a howling wind, and they are always hungry, with a particular taste for the flesh of other dragons. Hospitality is sacred in the Southern Icefield, where a dragon left outdoors can easily freeze to death, but to invite a wendigo in is to court death. There are some few stories about them being propitiated by proper hospitality and a generous feast, but there are more about them devouring entire clans down to the bone

Borealis found Tramontane chained in a sealed cave in the ice, the shackles he wore forged by a master ice mage to bind his powers as well as his body. Borealis, a mage of great power herself, was able to adjust the spell to answer to her will, and she brought the Wendigo back to her court. At her command he unleashes his terrifying magic, or sits by her side as a silent threat when she holds court. He has left her enemies as nothing more than a scattering of gnawed clean bones, and the sight of his massive form padding through the halls, or the sound of his low, hoarse voice is enough to make even seasoned warriors shudder. Despite this, his loyalty to the court is unquestioned.
