Monaira carries the blood of something far more terrifying than an ordinary dragon. Her father is a wendigo, a monstrous ice elemental. Her mother is unknown, but there is a certain fey air about her that suggests neither side of her heritage was entirely mundane. Monaira is the one who wields the whip in the Coven when her Mistress is away, and other witches have come to fear and respect her perhaps even more than the Mistress Herself.
Monaira is slender and elegant, with wide, iridescent eyes that flash in the dark, gracefully arched antlers, and a wild, beautiful laugh. Constantly in motion, she is elusive and playful, always trying to lure others into a game of hide and seek, or chase and pounce, her infectious laughter ringing out like bells as they run, or hide. Cats, too, like to play with their prey, although it's doubtful as to whether they derive as much joy from it as Monaira does. The story goes that Monaira was nursed by some sort of strange spirit locked in crystal before her Mistress arrived to take command. Monaira is one of the founding members of the Coven and the right hand woman to the Mistress. Her powers are vastly unknown, and Monaira loves keeping them that way. There is no question however that she is one of the most powerful witches around, albeit she has no interest in showing off her skills. Monaira is the one in charge of the "Speaking Crystal" when the Mistress is away.

. The only one able to hold her leash is the Mistress, the most important person in Monaira's world. She will constantly be ready for Her beck and call at any given minute, and will easily drop everything in order to come to Her side if summoned. While there are many who would have a joke or two in stores about her "lapdog's behaviour", no one is foolish enough to say them outloud. Monaira is seen as the voice of the Mistress when she's gone, and one will never hear another dragon talk as fondly and lovingly of Her as Monaira. The Mistress has nicknamed Monaira as "Monra", and is the only one allowed to use this name.

. While Monaira isn't interested in making acquintances with the lowest ranking witches of the Coven, she knows the Mistress' Favourites well, as she herself belongs into this group of the most acclaimed witches. Out of the three, Monaira is most fond of Rhayeen - she sees a certain kind of kindred spirit in her warrior's ways, and can respect her brutality in delivering the last blow. The two are known to be seen together, discussing techniques as well as planning for hunting trips. Rhayeen works well for Monaira's style - when she lures, Rhayeen will strike. For Monaira's tastes, Akava is far too vain and focused in her own pleasure to be regarded as highly as others seem to do. There is something worthwhile in her, however, as Akava is the quickest to anger to Monaira's pranks and teases. Monaira finds her anger amusing and will often seek her out if she's bored and with nothing to do. To Monaira's disappointment, Thirlmere seems reluctant to harm anyone or anything, which ultimately makes all games tedious. While Monaira can't question her talents, she'd adore the chance to kick some life into her - and she'd prefer to do it quite literally. There is softness in Thirlmere that Monaira can't help but to see as weakness, which is why she upsets the young witch as much as she can and forces her to watch as she tortures her playthings. Monaira wants nothing more than to break Thirlmere's bubble and can be very dominating and possessive in various ways when it comes to her.

. Among the Coven's many servants, slaves and "playthings", Hyun is Monaira's favourite by far. The male is most of all a show of a wonderfully indomitable will, and trying to break his spirit is another of Monaira's favourite ways to pass time. Hyun is bound to Monaira's Mistress in a myriad of strange spells which force him to obey orders, but this hasn't stopped him from being able to rebel in what Monaira calls "fascinating ways". She enjoys subjecting him to humiliation and public ridicule, and often uses him to upset Thirlmere, who happens to be fond of the male.

. There is one dragon who has ever escaped Monaira's "game". She doesn't admit how much it bothers her or how often she goes out on her own to find the blood red tundra male who realised her plans before she was able to execute it properly. Monaira still has her moments when she sparks up a spell or two to see if she could track down the male, but it seems that he has gone far from the lands of the Icewarden. She's sure however that there'll be a time when the two of them meet again and finally finish what was started on the day of their meeting.

Monaira is seductive, playful, and utterly dangerous. Untrustworthy and treacherously sweet and soft-spoken, anyone with a right mind would know not to fall into her act. Too many times has her charms seduced the unwary to be led to the Coven. Some of these stories have a happier ending - the dragon in question has been introduced to the Coven and joined it, whether by their own free will or by being forced, while other dragons have been led to the witches only to become their "playthings", or Akava's lunch. Usually both. She is greatly feared among the other witches and her words, whether hidden in a joke or spoken with a laughter, are always taken seriously.
