"I'm the result of our family's design. Yes, there have been issues, but in the end, I have flourished, have I not?"

Trigin was the ugly sibling. His brother got the good genes and bright colouration, and Trigin inherited the darker, dull colours his family is so well known for. His parents didn't love him any less for it though, and Trigin had a good childhood for the most part. Sure, his biological father despises his existence, but he got a better dad early on in his life who has always treated him as one of his own. He always knew that other Coatls would scorn him for his looks - his parents did not sugarcoat that reality for him, though they reassured him that many dragons were bigoted and having bright feathers was not everything and that others had it worse, because whilst he was mostly dull, Trigin's wings were a brighter blue than they could have been. He never let any of this bother him though, and he was a happy hatchling, eager to express his feelings and keen to make others smile. Colouration, however, was not his only issue. Trigin was born with a few minor health issues - and then there was the skin condition that always made him itchy, and as he grew older it got worse. In adolescence his feathers began falling out, amongst other problems, and it was decided to best way forward was to visit Mossgarde, where his mother was born, and consult Shaman; the old skydancer was not only a skilled healer, but had a talent for... rebuilding broken dragons, and her former student Cislunar was part of his own family tree. Shaman had been working with Cislunar for many years and thus was well acquainted with Stogwen's progeny, and so she agreed to help.

And so Trigin was remade. He did not ask for his feathers to grow back in brighter, but he found as he healed that he did not recognise himself so well. The pattern of his body remained the same, but it was brown now instead of grey. The feathers on his wings were still blue, but they were much brighter and displayed a pattern unfamiliar to his closest family members. Best of all - Trigin now had bright purple socks. He realised this was the true potential of his family genes, and believes that within every dull-plumed Coatl is a brighter one fighting to be free. It could be said he doesn't quite understand the implications, but Trigin he is happy to continue the legacy. He found his own mate in Mossgarde - Hollyhock. As he recovered in Mossgarde, he noticed her admiring his new plumage from afar, and he found himself strangely drawn to her. They hit it off immediately, and it is clear to any outsider that the pair adore each other. Trigin agreed to stay in the Viridian Labyrinth with her. She agreed to continue the family line, as was their duty.

Though he is not the smartest dragon, Trigin has discovered that he is very good with his hands. He thought about following the path of an inventor, but whilst he often has very interesting ideas, he doesn't really understand how to come up with making them. After being encouraged to take an apprenticeship with Soaproot, Trigin has discovered he's quite good with fixing things, taking things apart and then putting them back together again. If he can see something, he can figure out how it works. Fortunately for him, Soaproot is happy with not having much work to do, which has resulted in Trigin taking over most of the repair work outside of the Enclave, such as in the outdoor crafting workshop or the main lair.
