It is a common correction that the Rimebone Stockade functions more as a vault than a prison, and it is a particular counterpoint of Erebus' to emphasize the 'more' in that statement.

Prior to his and Terror's arrival in Olympia, Erebus coiled in the dark of the Stockade's depths. His teeth bared and feathers ruffled at any guard who lingered in front of his cell for too long. He knew their scent, he knew the clink of their armour and the heavy set of their feet - or hooves, when the damned Iceridge centaurs came about. He did not know the particular slither of scale against icy stone, nor the eyes of the dragoness that looked upon him from the other side.

He doesn't know how Terror found him, or what compelled her into the icy depths to begin with. But she called him home and it felt only polite to answer. In the dark depths of an ice-carved prison, ancient walls crumbled on top of relics, guards, and prisoners alike. And in the height of the nightsky, Erebus flew free alongside a stranger.

He had wondered where 'home' was, the duo had traveling the expanse of the world before something compelled them towards Olympia. Like the pull of a Guardian's search, he found it in those gilded walls and the quiet contentment in Terror's eyes.
