DelariSylvae

Delari Sylvae is the spirit (and name) of my clan, with roots and wings all over Sornieth. More concept than dragon. It's one I've pulled along with me into many games over the years. In Flight Rising it is more of an anthology-type theme for many but not even half of my dragons. Less than that are members of the version in my lore.

The clan as it exists in lore is primarily nomadic at heart, full of dragons from many flights each sharing a curious, wandering, adventurous nature in common. A variety of creative types call this clan home, especially those with a love for writing and stories.

While originating from a nest in ice flight territory, their figurehead leader (ranks are not really a thing among this clan), Saronai, hatched among the Wind clans and took up an early love for both song and adventure. They enjoy the natural and scholastic worlds in equal measure, but eventually chose a home base on the wooded outskirts of Light flight's Lanternlea Port. However, individuals - Saronai included - retain their penchant for traveling.

Delari Sylvae itself is connected by an idea and a purpose more than any formal structure, location, or ranks. They are named for an obscure but ancient species of hardy trees with leaves in various shades of purple and green. Symbolically, these trees were coded in ancient texts as living examples of life's persistence, symbols of hope and light. A message that even in the darkest of times, life will always return. Prevail.

The Delari Sylvae are keepers, guardians, and heralds of this truth, first and foremost, embracing the song of life and beauty of creative essence. This is a clan of scholars, writers, poets, dancers, and singers, healers, adventurers and kindred spirits with an overall empathic regard for all those they encounter. Most specimens of delari sylvae now exist primarily in Arcane, Shadow, and Nature territory with a few in Light's territory as well (primarily around the border with Shadow, the Moon Portal, and slowly encroaching around the desolate edges of The Hewn City). At least one specimen has been documented in most territories. There's even a super specialized, extra stubborn variant in Plague. I'm definitely going to find a way to work the whole mycelium network thing into this as well (thus the shrooms). It's just so cool, I love it.
