Kaelah was born into a traditional pearlcatcher clan at the edge of the Emberglow Hearth. Her clan elders preached constantly of the superiority and grace of the pearlcatcher breed, and attempted to instill some form of "proper" behavior in Kaelah, but Kaelah's rambunctious and firey nature had her breaking form left and right. From a young age she learned to sneak away from the clan through a hole in the back of the lair, WIP WIP WIP



Backstory
Kaelah was born into an all-pearlcatcher fire clan at the edge of the Emberglow Hearth. Her clan, typical of many pearlcatcher clans, preached endlessly about the greatness of the pearlcatcher breed, the beauty and joy of possessing a pearl, and the soulless, heartless existence of the lesser dragon breeds, who have no pearl. Unlike her brothers and sisters, however, Kaelah was more of a rebel. From a young age, she began sneaking out of the lair at night to escape and explore outside the reaches of her overbearing family.
On one midnight expedition to the edge of fire flight territory, she stumbled across a young guardian dragon, about her age, of the shadow flight. He introduced himself as Stormscale. The two struck up a conversation and became fast friends. Kaelah was soon sneaking out to meet him night in secret. She enjoyed his tales of the world outside the Ashfall Waste, and the dragons he had met, in particular his clanmates.
One fateful evening, as Kaelah was returning to her family's lair, she was ambushed by a pack of hainu. Kaelah's family heard her pleas for help and raced to her defense, but none of them were skilled enough in combat to aid her. Stormscale, also hearing her cries, rushed to her defense, beating back the hainu with deadly strength.
It was at this point that Kaelah's family found about her midnight meetings with Stormscale. They were livid: how dare their daughter befriend one of the lesser, pearlless breeds! They ordered Kaelah that instant to leave Stormscale and return to the lair. Kaelah, however, had had enough: she left her family that day to join Stormscale, and was accepted by Clan Phantom. She and Stormscale eventually grew up and became bondmates, and now have four children.
Personality
Kaelah has a temper as fiery as her element. When she is worked into a fury, Wraith will often send her out to cool her rage against monsters. When Kaelah is in this state, she is a devastating force to be reckoned with. She prefers melee fighting as opposed to the casting most of her breed uses. In contradiction to her birth clan, she teaches all the clan's hatchlings, particularly the pearlcatchers, that no breed is set above the other, and that all are equal. When her last-hatched son, Jeo, sought to join Clan Fireblaze to be with his bondmate, Axlyn, Kaelah understood, having left her own birth clan to be with Stormscale.
