Backstory
As a hatchling, Smoke's clanmates quickly noticed that she was every bit as feisty as her mother and grandmother. She frequently got in fights and arguments with her siblings. Outside of the lair, however, anyone who picked on any of her brothers would find themselves on the receiving end of a sound beating, with the fight eventually ending with Smoke sitting on the offender. She had a fierce protective streak for any underdogs, and would frequently tackle dragons bigger than her if she caught them bullying another dragon. Now grown, Smoke still harbors this "defender of the weak" tendency, fiercely defending everything from injured wildlife to clanmates to random strangers caught to an overwhelming monster skirmish. Smoke serves as a dedicated member of the lair guard, often taking night watch with Sventlin to ensure nothing malevolent enters the clan's lair. She also travels with diplomatic missions and the occasional more dangerous mail delivery, acting as a personal bodyguard to traveling clanmates.
Personality
Smoke is a champion defender of underdogs everywhere. She particularly defends her socially awkward brother Jaspyr from anyone who dares to laugh at him, especially the local pearlcatchers, who view him as an outcast because of his tiny pearl. She is quick to anger and quick to act upon that anger, preferable in a manner involving fighting. When not in a fury, she is caring and kind to creatures and dragons great and small, firmly upholding her mother's belief in equality and compassion. She channels her surprisingly large reservoir of energy into honing her combat skills, the better to protect her clanmates.
Smoke's Search:
Smoke has a rather unique search in that it is not exclusively tied to one thing: she sees it as her mission in life to protect anyone who is being pushed around unfairly. In particular, though, Jaspyr is the main recipient of the support, as his social awkwardness and his undersized pearl tend to invite taunts from other dragons. Those who are caught in the act regret it.
