Biography
Born a Guardian, Val is Azrael's mate.
She was taken in by his birth clan where her orphaned egg hatched.
Two months later, Azrael and the rest of his yearmates hatched.
Due to being an orphan, she was often marginalised by her yearmates while growing up.
Later on, those self-same dragons as adolescents tried to woo her, only to discover that despite her patient, kind, often aloof exterior, their exclusion of her had lead her to dislike them.
When Azrael finally plucked up the courage to make his own advance on his hatch day, their clan was attacked without warning by Plague Reavers from the Scarred Wasteland, whereupon Azrael outright admitted his feelings to her.
In the ensuing battle, Azrael's father,-the clan's leader, Palion,-was killed shortly after ordering Azrael and Val to flee.
Val escaped, though was pursued, while Azrael was captured.
Val however, managed to evade her pursuers by luring them into battle with a patrol of the Windsinger's Exalted, where the Reavers were slain.
With few options, Val took to wandering the Plateau in a premature Search for a Charge.
Years later, on one wandering, she found herself at the edge of the Sunbeam Ruins and took up with a small clan of historians, one of whom gifted her a set of Sunchaser Jewelry, partially out of genuine affection, partially as a plea to stay.
However, before long, Val parted ways with the clan though reluctantly, despite having found nothing to guard.
Months later, she came to the Ashfall Wastes where she encountered a Guardian called Smoke...
