Uh-oh, looks like this stone collector wandered a little too far from her home lair (KingVulture, 437722), and now she's off to see the world! Shimrio likes to collect several different kinds of rocks - perhaps unsurprising for an Obelisk, the breed having originated from statues. She hopes to learn what kinds of stones are common in the clans she travels to.
Shimrio had never been in a forest before and it was her first place to visit. She loved to see what kinds of rocks there were to collect. She noticed some rocks had moss on them and wondered why. She came closer to one of them and discovered that it may have been there for a long time. She wanted to take one of the mossy rocks, but it was very heavy and hard to move. At last she learned that the mossy rocks were common in the clan.
The Cave of Lost Souls
The Cave of Lost Souls proved a wonderful place to collect rocks. Amethyst, the resident collector, soon noticed a new dragon poking around his favorite rock formations and decided to ask about her. The two struck up an unlikely friendship, though all they talked about was rocks. It was enough.
The Cave was made of rock, after all.
While exploring the Cave, Shimrio came across a flamboyant and charismatic Skydancer named Peachblossom. They talked each other into dating briefly during the mystical end-of-year holidays. There were many things to do at that time of year in the daytime, despite the chill in the air. For the first time since she came upon the Cave, Shimrio ventured outside of its rocky depths to accompany Peachblossom on walks into the neighboring jungle. He showed her the merry Trading Post just past the treeline, all decked out for the end-of-year holiday. They walked past shops hawking wares they knew they didn't need and politely ignored the sellers trying to get their attention. They were more interested in each other. In the evenings, they dined to the light of enchanted candelabras who enhanced their flirty chatter with their own unwanted input. By night, they wandered under candy-colored lights to the tune of silver bells ringing without anyone touching them.
Then one day, it all ended. With the new year, they lost interest in one another and Shimrio decided she was ready to move on, leaving their funky child behind. She is safe within the Cave walls which so fascinated her mother, and she will not ever need to remember her at all. And that's just fine.
Shimrio somehow came back to the forest that she had visited before. Puzzled, this time she decided to enter far into the forest; maybe there was something waiting there for her to explore more. She found a forest kingdom that she hadn't know existed. As she explored the kingdom more, she found a waterfall. She saw many different kinds of rocks there. Her curiosity satisfied, she decided to leave and continue exploring other places.
Clan Burning Fantasies and their Fire Opals
Shimrio was a traveler who loved to collect gems from different lands. She had a knack for finding rare and beautiful stones, and she always carried a pouch of them with her. She enjoyed admiring their colors, shapes, and patterns, and learning about their origins and properties.
One day, she arrived at a town that was home to Clan Burning Fantasies, a group of dragons who lived on the border of Fire and Wind. The clan had aspects of both flights... She was curious to see their displays of fireworks and flames, and she hoped to find some fiery gems in their markets.
As she was browsing through the stalls, she noticed a girl with black scales an odd outfit and a cheerful smile. She was wearing a necklace of sparkling crystals, and she had a sign that said Mineralogist of Clan Burning Fantasies. Shimrio approached her and asked her about her necklace.
"Hello, I'm Peace, and these are my favorite gems. They are called fire opals, and they have a special property: they can store and release heat. They are very useful for fire magic, and they also look amazing. Do you like them?" Peace asked.
Shimrio was fascinated by the fire opals, and she asked Peace if she could buy one. Peace agreed, and she also offered to show Shimrio her collection of other gems. Shimrio accepted gladly, and the two girls went to Peace's house, where she had a large cabinet full of minerals.
Shimrio and Peace spent hours talking about their love of rocks, gems, and minerals. They compared their collections, and they exchanged some of their stones. They also discovered that they had a lot in common: they both liked to travel, to learn new things, and to have fun. They laughed at each other's jokes, and they shared their stories and dreams.
By the end of the day, Shimrio and Peace had become best friends. They decided to stay in touch, and to visit each other whenever they could. They also promised to send each other new gems that they found in their travels. They hugged each other goodbye, and Shimrio left with a new fire opal in her pouch and a new friend in her heart.
Starflower Grove
Shimrio was excited when she found herself at the clan border of Starflower Grove. She'd been dying for a spot of rest, and she'd never seen somewhere like this before. The flowers bloomed beautifully, but the sky above was dark with starlight.
She could feel that there was magic in the ground. And that the magic was tightly interwoven into every part of the clan, seeping into each plant and rock. It made her giddy with excitement - what type of rocks could she find in a clan like this, where magic and nature coexisted?
Unfortunately, her curiosity was never answered, as night after night of searching gave her no results. It was as if the ground knew what she was looking for, and was purposefully hiding the rocks from her. Sometimes, she would see telltale signs of there being precious minerals or stones, but the stones themselves were missing, seemingly swallowed by the earth.
After a few months in the clan with nothing to turn up for it, Shimrio left, feeling deeply unsettled.
Oculus Clan
Shimrio got the chance to flex her rock-finding skills during the Flameforger's Festival. If there was any dragon who could find piles of glowing embers, it was her! She joined the clan on several digging trips, unearthing not only embers but a trove of other rocks to study.
Truthfully, the other rocks were more interesting than the festival currency. She sold her embers for a tidy profit after deciding that she didn't really need a fire sword. There was one stone in particular that intrigued her: a small but very dense meteorite that had cracked when it fell from space. Shimrio swore that she sometimes saw a faint glow emanating from the inside, but it always seemed to fade when she tried examining it closer. Surely this little thing held a secret.
Intrigued, she added the meteorite to her collection for further study and went on her way. Festivals were good and all, but she was ready to get back to collecting the real treasures: rocks.
Sunbeam Lanternhouse
On approaching the Sunbeam Lanternhouse, Shimrio beheld the inn's welcoming courtyard: its floor was an almost-complete mosaic of sunflowers in cheerful yellows and warm browns. Even in its incomplete state, Shimrio thought it was beautiful, and she spied tools in one corner for laying future tiles.
When she complimented Kukulcan on it, he replied that the tiles were all sourced locally, from the earth around the inn. While the mosaic tiles weren't rocks per se, they excited Shimrio nonetheless: she could get a look at where they came from. Rather pleased by her enthusiasm, Kukulcan directed her to Ila, the clan's digger and supplier of the earth used to make the tiles.
Ila, however, was uninterested in showing Shimrio her dig sites, and she became standoffish when Shimrio tried to wheedle a tour out of her anyway.
The situation was rescued by Yan, the mosaicist behind the courtyard's art. He gracefully inserted himself into their confrontation by offering to show Shimrio how he made the tiles.
Recognizing that she was on the verge of causing a scene, Shimrio accepted. And the process of selecting the earth to use from one of several pots, shaping it into tiles, and then firing them was just as interesting as their origins. She became absorbed in watching Yan work, and, with the exception of mealtimes and sleep, she spent her time in his studio. As long as she didn't get in his way, Yan didn't mind having an audience.
When he'd fired a sufficient number of tiles, Yan guided her back to the courtyard and the corner he'd been working in. He showed her how he seated the tiles in their proper place and then grouted them. She was delighted when he even let her try that part.
Having watched his process from (almost) start to finish, Shimrio was satisfied and ready to continue her journey. Before she left, Yan gifted her a small tile as a memento.
Marvelous Meadows
Shimrio felt like coming back to the west, so she hitched a ride on a merchant ship. After travelling across the inland sea, she found herself in Windsinger's realm and decided to take a break, since she'd never been past the border. Luckily for her, she soon stumbled upon a tourist-y town with a luxurious inn.
The local dragons seemed prepared to answer her questions. Not only were they used to having curious guests around, but many of them seemed interested in jewellery. The inn croupier immediately caught Shimrio's eye as she had intricate accessories braided into her flowing mane. Seeing her interest, Pyxis sank her claws into her. "One round at the table, and I'll tell you the secret behind this," she said, tilting her head so the light caught on the glittering stones.
Shimrio should've seen through these tricks, but her curiosity got the better of her. One round somehow turned into five, then ten. Shimrio managed a couple of wins, but still lost quite a bit of money trying. Eventually Pyxis took pity on her and finally upheld her part of the deal, allowing Shimrio to inspect the jewels which were polished labradorite. Even up close the stones looked stunning, like sunshine was hitting all of them at all kinds of angles. Shimrio quickly forgot all about her numerous defeats, especially since Pyxis gave her the directions to the local jeweler's shop. After buying her very own labradorite pendant and having a good night's sleep, Shimrio felt ready to move on.
Sunbeam Lanternhouse
When Shimrio left the Marvelous Meadows, she was blown off course, back to Light territory, so she made a quick stop at the Sunbeam Lanternhouse again - the residents were surprised to see her again so soon, but they pressed supplies on her before sending her on her way. (She made sure to keep her visit as brief as possible to avoid Aya and Ayo.)

After wandering for a few more days, the ambitious Shrimrio arrived to the Starling Day Clan, eager to discover ores and rocks in the Lightweaver's domain once more.
The roads were paved in gold - it intrigued Shrimrio at how long it took to get the funds for such a thing. During a certain time of the day, Shrimrio collected such pretty rocks near areas where construction was going on...a bunch even glowed in the dark!
After staying within the clan inn for about a week, Shrimrio decided to permanently stay in Starling Day, with a new goal of opening a shop filled with the rocks, ores and crystals she had collected in her travels to share with the clan.

Shimrio shouldn't be alarmed when the inside of the house changed before their eyes. It tended to transform to fit the visitor's personal preferences, including the snacks in a basket by the door. However, if she had any questions or concerns, she could always seek out Fokle.
Shimrio settled in, and found Fokle had been telling the truth. The insides all changed and she felt right at home. It was comfortable and any weight on her shoulders just melted away. She had one of the best sleeps of her night and woke up fully refreshed.
She visited the gardens and the flowers with Fokle, meeting the flower dragons and marveling at how beautifully they kept the lands. He even shared the names of all the critters following and helping him on his tasks, though Shimrio couldn't recall them a minute later when they entered the section of woods cast in winter.

"There was no earthquake in the end," Maiya said. "Just the sound of footsteps."
It wasn't a very satisfying story.
The next day, Shimrio departed-- with a few more rocks from the market, and leaving behind a new friend.
