His mother, an Avariel of terrifying renown, saw fit in her wisdom to train her progeny in the ways of a warrior to instill a sense of self-discipline and prevent the inevitable catastrophe of his power. Naturally, this led to many butting of heads in Anthe's youth between the two but their bond remains strong and Anthe continues to seek her guidance when it's needed. Churning within him always is the fury of the storm, harnessed only by rigorous training and Anthe's conscious decisions to act for the benefit of others. While a prideful individual, he is not above helping others for little or nothing in return, the stories of rebuilding Waterdeep after the sealing of the rift forever in his memories through the oral traditions passed to him by his mother. Others had banded together to assist his ancestors in their time of great need, and it became his goal to return the favor in some way, using his magic to assist those at sea and his prowess with polearms to defend those on the shore, an act that would one day have the fledgling warrior stumbling into love with a sentient plant in the form of a dragon. In spite of his natural skill, the complete backfire of these abilities is how Anthe met his best friend and companion, Torrent. Named for the rain that Anthe found him injured in, Torrent was inadvertently captured in a severe storm originating from one of his routine training exercises off the coast of Nee. The two bonded quite well while the Storm Seeker was in his care and now the foreboding bird simply refuses to leave his side. While he enjoys his new friend, suffice to say Anthe is much more careful of passersby while honing his skills these days, with Torrent keeping a keen eye on the area and alerting him when necessary. While nomadic and always on the move, Anthe enjoys lingering in certain places when he visits, namely Port Nee or with the crew of the Skald's Folly when he happens upon them on their voyages, and has personally seen the mysterious emergence of the Redoran's Revenge twice. This of course is his favorite story to tell while in a friendly boasting match at his favorite watering hole "The Devilish Magpie" while sipping on peppermint tea. Despite the impressions his drink choice may give you, Anthe is indeed a daredevil at heart and loves an adrenaline rush, often engaging in reckless behaviours and displays of strength such as the annual tournaments held in the large port city, his aptitude for fighting and arcane ability earning him multiple championships and a small fan base.

Rune Reading It is customary for young Avariels to consult with diviners near the time of their birth, or before important turning points in their lives. The old practice is slowly taking root in Sornieth. The diviner rattles their satchel, shuffling the runes within before spilling them across the table. They read only those that are face up. Anthe was born when the barrier to the Elemental Plane of Air was weakest. Those born in such circumstances are known for their capricious natures above all else. The largest rune revealed is the Spirit Rune. This implies Anthe has inherited their penchant for Wild Magic. These Avariels have the strongest connection to the Elemental Plane of Air. It is both blessing and curse. There is no true way to control it, but any time Anthe performs magic, from summoning their house keys to vanquishing demons, they risk facing uncontrollable bursts of magic, as unpredictable as the storm their ancestors hailed from. Spells usually fluctuate in intensity and direction, and in very rare cases, may case entirely unexpected side effects. Two smaller runes deign to explain his future. In the realm of travel, Anthe will have the most consistency. Travel refers to Anthe's opportunities to see more of this realm and those beyond it, and how frequently they are able to settle in one place. This can mean he will occasionally and only occasionally, explore different parts of Sornieth, or never stop traveling, doomed to forever wander without a home until the gods call him back What’s good will remain, and what’s cursed will persist. Fate will push hardest against attempts to change this aspect of his life. In contrast, the most volatile aspect in his life will be combat. Combat refers to Anthe's ability to manage conflict, be it on the battlefield proper or in noble court or back alleys. He is advised to hold tightly to the best parts of this aspect, because it is only a matter of time before they disperse. To complete the reading, one close to Anthe selects the final rune. Kalypsie, his mother, finds the rune for power, bestowing the most sincere blessing in the eye of fate.
