Angelico barely remembered his father, since he'd been so young when his father had died. But he grew up hearing stories from his mother about how great of a defender Metamorphic had been. Inspired by his family's warrior heritage, Angelico trained diligently so that he could defend the ones he loves the way his father did and mother does. After he began training, he learned of his heritage from his mother. Evangelina told him of the Angels that sought to eradicate their kind (Archangels) and of the seers blood that ran through his veins.

Memento mori (Latin: "remember that you have to die") is the medieval Latin Christian theory and practice of reflection on mortality, especially as a means of considering the vanity of earthly life and the transient nature of all earthly goods and pursuits. Memento mori has been an important part of ascetic disciplines as a means of perfecting the character by cultivating detachment and other virtues, and by turning the attention towards the immortality of the soul and the afterlife.
