Alyion refuses to settle for less than what his heart is set on doing. He doesn't know if it feels the same way for his parents, but when he was old enough and they asked if he wanted to leave, explaining the curse and blessing of how their family line works, they were only putting words to an ache he'd always felt in his core. He wants - he wants friendship and he wants love, from the deepest unshakeable camaraderie to the barest of passing-by acquaintanceships.

He'd have to leave, he decides, if he wants the full gamut of dragon relationships. There simply aren't enough new people to meet here where he was born.
