XIMENEZ The Monster in the Closet Role: Circus 'Monster' Mate: None Pronouns: he/him Bio: Ximenez had long grown out of the childish dream of running away to join the circus. He'd learned very quickly that the world was not a beautiful fantasy the winter he got very sick, and no one was there to care for him except his brother. No one would offer them much help or shelter, and what little kindness was shown to them always came with strings attached. His cough got so bitter and lasted for so long that his voice was forever altered, always low and gravelly and failing him entirely if he talked too much, even after his recovery. It made others distrust him, but if he let his brother do the talking, they'd get taken advantage of because Eiki came off like a buffoon. It was starting to get to the point that Ximenez was resorting to some very shady stuff on the sly in order to get food, so when Eiki brought up going off to find a circus...well, couldn't be much worse than Kaiator. Once they didn't find a circus troupe to take them in, he could talk his brother around to a more sensible life. But to Ximenez's surprise...they actually found one. He wasn't overly enthusiastic about playing a 'monster' every night, but it beat starving and it was nice to be on the road, seeing other places and meeting other dragons, some with far stranger ailments than a catch in their voice. Of course, Ximenez knew it couldn't last. Things were never the same after Showdown vanished. And when she came back, something was weird. He hates to bring it up to his brother, because Eiki is much happier thinking things can go back to normal, now, but something about her sets Ximenez's teeth on edge. Would his brother go along, if they needed to run away, again? |
