EIKI The Monster Hunter Role: Circus Gladiator Mate: None Pronouns: he/him Bio: When Eiki and his brother Ximenez were young, growing up in the bustling city of Kaiator, they wandered a little bit out of town one day and saw a travelling circus setting up. They snuck in to watch the show, and were both promptly enthralled. The two brothers vowed that one day, they too would put on shows like that, to spellbind dragons and beastclans of all ages. As they grew, Eiki only got more sure about his goal in life. Though he saw a lot of the worst sorts of people in the underbelly of the city, he never lost the pep in his step and he never gave up on his dreams. When city life was getting steadily worse for his brother, and what family ties they still had were getting strained, Eiki packed his and his brother's bags and they ran away from the city in the night to join the circus. Though Eiki initially had grand ideas of being an acrobat, doing a stunt show with his brother, that act never quite got off the ground. Instead, they found their niche in a display of fighting prowess. Eiki is cast as the noble protector, defending Dragon-and-Beast-kind from Shade-touched monsters and ancient horrors. But since none of those have joined their circus yet, Eiki usually just fights his brother in a costume. Though it wasn't exactly what he planned, Eiki loved the show, the hype of the crowd, the moment where he pretends he's dead so the crowd cheers all the louder when he gets back up, hurt but still breathing... And then, their Ringmaster vanished, and Eiki's world caved in. Without the crowds, without the spectacle, without the schedule and the tour dates and the ebb and flow of circus life, Eiki hasn't just lost his job. He's lost so much more than that. He's lost his home, he's lost his dreams...and he's lost himself. |
