Biography
![](/rendern/portraits/852023/85202258p.png)
One of the Founder's children, Deepscale is particularly close with the strange entity that hangs about the Crystalcrags and will often hang around the deeper parts of Rippleshard's territory with them. Nobody else in the clan, aside from his father, really knows why he does this, but he's proven to be a proficient healer with the strange water magic he commands.
Deepscale was born a bit... different. Sure, visually he was fine. He didn't have any unusual eye types or strange, off-the-wall changes. In fact, for a clutch born deep in these depths, they actually ended up shockingly fine!
...Suspiciously fine.
It was later, when the hatchlings began to bear the fruit of the Water they were born with, that Deepscale began to show signs of oddity.
While his siblings were slightly prone to visions, and carried all that mysterious prophecy that Water folk are known for, he himself didn't have even a single prediction, nor any of the standard signs.
Yet, when one of his siblings scraped themselves while they played, he'd bring water over the wound, and suddenly, they'd be restored.
Though nobody thought much of it, Carboden found it... odd. That his son cut through the world effortlessly, which was definitively NOT something Water could do.
Eventually, Carboden confronted the strange entity in the crags, having a feeling someone native to this place could give him a clue as to why this permutation of magic had appeared. He didn't realize how correctly he had picked; Seastringer cracked, confessing that they were actually a god themself, and that they'd been trying to hide that fact lest the gods of the Flights didn't take kindly to intrusion, even if this was their domain. Although he kept it a sworn secret, he arranged for the Water God to mentor his son, so that he could better understand and control the magic he'd been bestowed.
Since then, Deepscale goes back to the depths of the Crystalcrags frequently, to mentor under Seastringer and gain a better understanding of himself and his alignment. He's also learned much more about Otherside than he probably should, though he certainly doesn't mind; he was born down here, and he may as well be immersed in it, if he's of both sides anyhow.

- Actually shockingly helpful for Seastringer, helping them settle anxieties with what he does know of the Tidelord. In the least, he figures if nothing goes out there, nobody will charge in here, and it'll be fine.
- Close with Abyssal as a result of both of their interests of the deep. However, unlike his brother, he doesn't go lunging into all of it; he's aware enough, and does his best to keep his brother out of trouble. After all, he'd hate for him to stumble into one of the other deities that aren't so kind, that Seastringer frets about...
- Talks at points with Mistseeker, and the two hold a slight bit of alliance. They mind him a tad bit less, being 'touched' by the local divine and all.
- Scrakket is actually local fauna that happens to look very similar to a Bilworper! They travel with him as he explores the depths of the area.
