Biography
Poppy
Poppy is a somnologist, a sleep doctor, who assists dragons who suddenly find themselves having trouble sleeping. Poppy works with them to find a solution to help ease them to sleep, whether this solution is a comfier bed, cutting down on caffeinated plants, finding a new place to sleep altogether, adjusting their sleep schedule, a comfort object — whatever helps them to get a good night’s sleep. The most common issue that Poppy’s patients present to her is the noise. Newcomers to Electrician’s Edge are often put off by the constant thunder, and so Poppy works with her patients to find a way to drown it out.
Poppy’s interest in sleep medicine originally stemmed from her own sleep issues. Poppy is, as it turns out, extremely narcoleptic (without cataplexy), and often finds herself drifting off at the worst times. More than one of her patients have left her office, grumbling about the fact that she fell asleep mid-session. She can’t help this, of course, but this doesn’t stop anyone from being annoyed by it.
In her free time, when she’s not consulting with patients or hosting a sleep study, Poppy is fond of floral arrangements, and works to make her own with which to decorate her office. Plants like poppies, chamomile, and valerian are common in her arrangements, and the sleep-based plants help create a soothing and calming effect in her office. On the other hand, however, the sleep-based plants often end up encouraging Poppy’s narcolepsy, meaning she falls asleep in the middle of arranging them.
