When the world was a growing thing, the Plaguebringer created dragons by hand and unleashed them upon the world to spread the virus. Two of these were the most powerful of all, going on to be called 'witches' as they settled down into the marshy swamplands of Quod Labryinthus. Many centuries later their ranks would swell, including other witches so powerful they could count themselves as gods. One of these is stronger than all the rest, the head of the entire pantheon. Ah yes. Willowick. The stories I have heard all originate deep within Labyrinthus, so I'm afraid I have no face to face contact to draw on myself. It is all hearsay, but nevertheless. Willowick is purportedly the current champion and protege of the god-witch Widower. I have been told that he is a man of small stature who is always accompanied by a caiman. This must be his familiar, as he also has a very similar looking tail. Oh, and apparently he lost an arm to the god-witch once, though every description I've found has two arms. Other reports say that he is a very serious man who looks down on all who come in without absolute faith, though I've also had a couple of local traders say he has a surprisingly good sense of humour about him and will happily talk to strangers about the local wildlife. Whilst I can't think of what would be gained by lying about this, I can't say I would want to be anywhere near someone who could end my life in an instant. The letter has been torn in a few places, seemingly by some kind of enthusiastic animal. --- You're wise to stay away from me, stranger. I hold those who come to Lord Widower to the standard they should meet, nothing more or less. Bow in the presence of your betters, or I will cut your legs off at the knee. Still, this interests me. I'm surprised the traders would speak of me so kindly. I like them, you see, for they understand the importance of nature and the ecosystem which surrounds us. They would never deign to challenge the powers that keep our lands secure and our hearts ready to face the challenges that make us stronger. And for the record, I don't mind about my arm.
