Uchiha grew up confident in their abilities. From a young age they were considered to be highly skilled, however their left head (Itachi) was often praised over the right (Sasuke) for his intelligence as well. Despite this, the two got along well. Itachi looked after Sasuke, making sure the other would eat and teaching him how to fight and strategize. Both of their parents were often busy and so Itachi, more mature, was usually left in charge.

When they came of age, Uchiha eventually left their home in the Hellwell Undercroft to travel the world.
Working well together, Sasuke and Itachi were able to take down any foe, dragon or beastclan, that tried to stop them. Over time, though, Itachi began to notice a change in his other half. While he would occasionally attempt to talk to the others they would meet, Sasuke became more and more withdrawn, often directing their shared body to attack rather than wait for the others to state their intentions. After this lead to a massacre of an otherwise peaceful harpy tribe, Itachi knew something had to be done.
Catching Sasuke's gaze, he focused, eyes beginning to swirl until the other was captivated by his stare.
Using this technique, he gained sole control over their body.

Sasuke felt betrayed by his brother's actions, anger growing but now directed towards his brother. Itachi, unsure of what else to do, took the other's rage when directed towards him. When they interacted with others, though, he would use his powers to suppress Sasuke's anger, returning him to being as he was. The cost of his power is high, though, and Itachi has felt it aging him prematurely. Sight starting to fade, he began worrying that, unless he could find a means of fixing his brother, he would one day lose him entirely.

One day Uchiha stumbled across a clan in the Lightweaver's Domain. Although initially wary, Itachi soon learned that they had some highly trained healers. Hopeful that one could save Sasuke, he joined the clan as a fighter. Although he expends a lot of energy keeping Sasuke in a dream, when in battle he allows his brother control, only stepping in when others might get injured. While his brother's raw passion lends itself well to battle, Itachi also helps with strategy, setting their clan up for success.

Itachi is often quiet, preferring to listen rather than speak. Despite his nature, which many see as indicative of his distance from the clan, Itachi has come to care deeply for the others in the clan. He feels a strange sense of kinship with Natsu, although he is unsure why. Itachi and Rukanko often butt heads, the latter refusing to allow Uchiha anywhere near the dragon he sees as a brother. Sasuke, even with Itachi's seals, refuses to interact with anyone else in the clan, only talking with Itachi. When released from the almost hypnotic-like spell holding him, he tries to kill Itachi just as much as any other living thing. As a result, Itachi avoids the clan's resident seeker out of concern that, if caused in some way by the Shade, she will seize him and his brother.
