Hesephe is the matriarch’s mate, though his importance in the tribe is only as strong as he is. That being said, he is a champion fighter, having fought in the Coliseum of Sornieth to earn renown and the respect of other wildclaws.

He is always the first to attack in fights, as soon as Aermia shrieks at the enemy and sets the tribe on them. The two of them are an unstoppable and mesmerizing force, leaping into the air and bringing their strong legs and sharp toe claws down on their opponents in unison.

Hesephe’s birth tribe was a mix of coatl and wildclaw pairs. He could fight all of the wildclaws in his tribe and win but could not lead them. He left to enter the Coliseum then and rose to the top.

When he had proven to Sornieth how strong he was he abandoned it all, though many other dragons probably would have continued to fight until they were eventually beaten by the next champion.

After Hesephe left the Coliseum to pursue a mate he found quite a few who would challenge him. It is the usual way of the wildclaw, for potential mates to challenge each other. The first challenger to defeat him was Aermia.

He readily chose her, seeing a chance to start a lineage of strong wildclaws who would succeed him one day.
