ESTEEMED matriarch of the Abrasax line, Seraphi is roughly as hard, extravagant, and sharp-edged as the crystal out of which she's purportedly made. While she admits to -- occasionally -- not being the finest mother (or grandmother) one could hope for, she is quick to remind everyone that she's the finest mother anyone could ask for. And that's what counts.

It hasn't been easy to keep ahead of a dynasty turned taboo from rumours of Shade influence. It's not that Seraphi is enraged or even disappointed to learn her son was dealing with the Corrupted. She's just annoyed to hear he'd been caught out. It's not as if the Shade particularly troubles Seraphi. Ultimate power is ultimate power, and Seraphi's not about to turn her nose up at the offer just because it happens to come in a many-voiced, infinitely-faced darkness from beyond all comprehensible time and space.

That's just poor business practice, really.

By her own admission, Seraphi's finest quality is her sheer determination. Unlike her son, who has a terrible habit of cutting and running at the first sign of pushback, Seraphi is the type to keep forging ahead even if the path must be paved in bad press and bones. Especially if it must be paved in bones. She's only here to talk sense into her errant child and steer the family back into the black -- talk, of course, being a relative term.

IMPRESSIONS
Cold, hard crystal patched up with burnished gold and whirring pneumatics. No matter the hallmarks of past injury, she moves like the world turns just to try and get out of her way. Muscle ripples under fine dark linen and custom gold plate. Smiling comes surprisingly easy to her but never, ever reaches her eyes. Underneath every sculpted syllable and resonant consonant there's the hint of an echo: Turn back, turn back.

RELATIONSHIPS
BALEM is Seraphi's son and primary heir to the Abrasax line. It cannot be said that Seraphi loves her son, only that any malice she displays in his direction is generally feigned in order to "teach him something valuable." She views her son as a continual work-in-progress.
CARINA is a mercenary Seraphi hired to track Balem down following The Scandal. Seraphi views Carina as a useful tool. Balem's attachment to what amounts to little more than a robot is hilarious, expected, and a little sad.
ENON is Seraphi's Shade-touched assistant. Seraphi does not fear the Shade; she sees it as a valuable tool which some dragons are uniquely able to use or else interact with. Enon is useful and remains loyal to Seraphi (unclear what horrors Seraphi had to do to secure this alliance), and Seraphi appreciates Enon's existence.
VILTRI is, to everyone's eternal surprise, Seraphi's very favourite grandchild. In her own words, she describes him as willful, querulous, and bull-headed -- qualities which, given how far away he lives, only serve to endear him to her. To date, Viltri is the only member of the family to have ever actually stood up to Seraphi and spoke plainly to her, which is probably why she respects him at all.
HARLING is the one pulling all the strings around here, and Seraphi prides herself on not being an idiot. Much to everyone's collective horror, Harling and Seraphi get along very well -- far beyond the boundaries of any simple business arrangement. They're both equally ambitious and equally fond of pretty accessories (see below), with complementary (inappropriate) notions of humour.
BLANK SPACE DU JOUR is any PYT seen hanging off Seraphi's arm during gatherings, functions, and nighttime strolls. Seraphi's reputation for collecting lovers like trophies generally precedes her wherever she goes. She doesn't care. She chooses lovers based on how aesthetically pleasing they are -- everything else is just window dressing.
