He doesn't fight in the Mire. He just likes to hang out there and chill with its natural denizens. On occasion, he has been to known to fight alongside them, to help out against Gholtvan and Rilian, the lair's Mire Flyer duo. All in good sport, of course - and not as though he has much advantage against that tornado tag-team - but such encounters have inspired some impressive legends on impressionable young trainees...

As a fledgeling he was a cheeky, irrepressible rascal who loved digging for buried secrets, caring not a jot if he came home plastered with mud, sand and seaweed from a day's adventures; but the stories he could weave about those adventures did much to alleviate his parents' wrath.

Dune turned the tables on a nearby nest of River Flights, sneaking into their lair and absconding with one of their kits, which is now his boon companion.

As an adolescent, shortly after his betrothal to Duskrose, he developed the primary gene pattern 'clown', as though his nature were made manifest in his markings. Some time after their second clutch were fanfared off to the Lightweaver, his wings grew dappled as though his body were striving to camouflage itself.

He headed the group who took offerings to the Shadow Dragons in the middle of winter, when dragons show compassion even to their enemies in these hardest of times. The Shadow clan who discovered their basket were overwhelmingly generous in return, and Dusk found himself the chief diplomatic envoy between their lairs.
